I know most of the women who live in cities know what I'm talking about. What's the reason for it? Why would someone in her right mind give you the time of day when you're rude and she doesn't know you? I know some men are animals, but that doesn't seem like reason enough!

I know how you feel and what's worse is no matter how you turn them down they either still keep trying to holla at you or start cursing you out because they've been rejected. It can be very irritating when your just trying go about your own business and have to deal with overly some persistent fool, that you'd never give the time of day to, up in your face.

I hear what your saying. i live in DC and men try to stop their cars to talk to me. And whenever I go past a corner with a lot of guys they always say something stupid like "hey baby can I get your number?" "Hey mami I'm trying to make you my girl?" This has been happening to me since I was at least 12 because I started puberty early and I have womanly curves and men think I'm over 18. I'm 16 and I just ignore it. But I sorta of like the attention.

I never got why they did that. I just ignore them and keep walking, and they get mad and think you're stuck up. I mean if they want to talk to me at least show some respect and come up to me in private and talk instead of hollering out "hey baby" or whistling.

Let them know that you expect RESPECT. If they're rude, continue walking as if you didn't hear them (no attitude). If they continue to talk without respect, tell them that you are someone's daughter and you deserve respect.
Conduct yourself as an adult, without coming down to their level. Tell them you don't appreciate being talked to in whatever foul or suggestive language they're using.
If they start acting worse or their friends are around, just walk away and ignore them.
In some neighborhoods, this can turn violent quickly because someone feels "dissed" so adjust my response as needed.

I don't know what their rationale is, but since I am not a canine, I do not stop for whistles. Maybe they are so hard up that's the only way to get attention, and they have no idea how retarded they look.
