Outside of culture & religious reasons, why does it seem most folks dislike (or just simply choose not to eat) pork?

Personal experience from company pot-lucks, pork seems to be passed over more often than other types of meats.

i personally think theres nothing wrong with it - a majority of hispanics call themselves latinos (from what ive seen/know) and i dont think the "white man" can tell them that what they call themselves in politically incorrect. (in response to something i read not just toward whhites but thats where ive heard most of this)

In the United States and elsewhere that tipping has become ridiculous, do you think that it has gotten out of hand? I mean I can understand if it is just restricted to tipping wait staff at fine diners, but tipping everyone who just does his job? You go into NYC and every stall there is a tip jar? What is that? You have to tip for the person who opens the door, who closes the door. You have to tip the baggage guy at the train station for doing your baggage? You have to tip the cab driver for driving? What's going on? Why can't they be like the Japanese where tipping is considered RUDE as it implies that service providers must be paid extra to ensure they do their job.

I recently have noticed many people in their late teens(18-19) and early 20's feel it is absolutely necessary to live with their bf/gf just because they think it's the thing to do in to pop-culture. They also feel they need to spend the night, or many nights with them because of pop-culture as well. It seems alot of this ideology is pushed upon them current TV shows like Howard Stern, Road Rules, The O.C., and basically anything that's on MTV or VH1.

Do you, or did you feel your values were impressed upon you by TV shows or by your parents? If you answered by TV shows, how did you feel when you found out that's not the right way to go, and lastly, what will you do when YOUR kids follow this same ideology or whatever is prominant at the time they're in this age group?

The ban was put in 2 years ago. It will be bad PR for any politican to lift the ban and the country has more pressing needs then wanting to see the return of chasing a poor creature with a pack of dogs just for fun.
I live in the countryside and most of it is only out of town surburbia for the middle and upper class.

Lots of people say preppy people are cocky and hate emo people and anyone else that's 'below' their rep.
