I must say I respect your honesty, and the honesty of your answers.
However, if I may be so honest here... you all need to remember where you came from yourselves and appreciate the innocence of childhood. These little ones have a lot to teach us if we all take a step back and watch them for a while.
Having your own is quite different from other people's children, but all children are pure at heart, and have lots of love and trust in their little hearts.
Anyone who feels the way you do, I would tell not to have them. There's too much hurt going on in the world today without implementing any extra heartache unnecessarily.
You're not "black hearted", but perhaps unknowing or a bit intimidated by how small and innocent they really are.
Don't worry too much about it, and trust your own instincts if something is telling you to stay away from them.

Honestly, I am not crazy about holding babies - just something I never thought necessary until my grandson was born. I held him for 4 hours the day he was born. I do not dislike children per se but I definitely cannot stand those whining, crying babies that parents let disrupt meals at restaurants, movies, and calm shopping experiences in the store. More and more these days, parents are letting their children run wild in stores, scream and holler instead of taking care of them the proper way.

I don't like children much either, but I do tolerate them and there are times that children do the cutest things.

I was raised in the generation whereby kids were seen and not heard, but the children nowadays control the situations.
It drives me bonkers when we go out to eat and kids are running around a restaurant while their parents ignore them.
It drives me crazy when people come over to my house with children and the kids wreak havoc, running everywhere and screaming, or going into rooms and going through things.

I'd rather have babies and toddlers around me as they are actually more disciplined!

You're not a black heart.
You have the right to your opinion and your feelings.
People who judge you for disliking children are ignorant and self-righteous and most likely jealous of you because you do not have children!

I've been called selfish in my life among other things, because I chose not to have children.
My reasons for not having children are personal and no one's business!
Frankly, I consider myself intelligent for making that choice, as I understand the difficulty and sacrifice required for raising children, especially nowadays.
Ignore the parents who criticize you for making a personal choice and having an opposing viewpoint than theirs.
It's none of their business!

There is nothing wrong with you.

Exactly like you do and I am a woman who had 2 kids. I only loved or even liked my own kids. Hard to admit it too. Don't feel alone! They make me crazy and I don't need to hold anyone's baby for any reason. But you better quit admitting it! Find another diversion for such situations when you can! People get hostile!

To be honest, I love kids.
I love them a lot more when they're some one elses and I only have to be around them a couple of hours at a time.
I haven't the patience for little ones any more, though I really do love them.

I like children. A lot. But I don't like babies so much. For me, girls between 6 and 12 are the epitome of innocence. And I love innocence.

I like mine, but I am rather neutral on the other ones. I like them I suppose, and I don't mind being around other kids, but I do draw the line at looking at pictures of other kids I don't even know and being told exactly how old some child I don't know is.

I like little children but I can understand why people won't want to be around toddlers. They can be a handful and drive people crazy.

Like you I don't like babies very much. I like hanging out with children that are a little older that you can talk to.

You are not strange - just honest!
