Yeah, I've wondered that for a long time, but figured that it was a stupid question to ask, but...right now,I don't care if it's stupid or not, I'll ask anyhow.

Why must there be stereotyping here? Just because there may or may not have been experiences between you and another individual of a different religion, sexual preference, race, or anything else does not make everyone else of that religon, sexual preference, or race the same as that individual. I'm not saying that I'm not at fault too sometimes but c'mon, cut back a little bit.

I'm from New Orleans, Louisana, and I have no idea what my ethnicity is. I'm a Heinz 57, basically I'm creole. I'm mixed with every possible race. I'm tan with green eyes and really curvy. My mom said that I'm mixed with African, French, and American Indian. Some ppl in my family consider themselves black others dont. Is there some kind of test I can take? I would love to know how much percent of each race I have, just so I can decide on my own. My mom considers herself black...but she looks white. My dad considers himself other but he looks middle eastern. I would love to know what I am. If I say that I'm African American I feel as if I'm denying my native american or white ancestry. I feel as if I can't claim one without denying the other. I'm applying for college this year and they give special scholarships for certain minorities as in black or native american and I don't know if I should even apply!!! Can you give me some advice or some websites or something....thanks!!!

The term Native-American is not correct in its usage to categorize one segment of the American population. Just because someone’s ancestors were already here and watched the other folks getting off the boat, does not make them anymore a Native than any other America. What is a native? It is someone born in the land in which they abide. So since I was born within the boarders of the United States of America that makes me a Native. Why do we need terms to identify ourselves beyond who we really are? If we are born in this country we are Native-Americans, its that simple. If you need to be put in a category and your ancestors were here before the Europeans showed up I guess you could be called ‘First-Americans’…at least it a more accurate statement if you are trying to pigeon hole yourself in one group. Now I realize that the term native-American is a made up term just like the term Hispanic that the national government uses to categorizes its citizens.

epithets and slurs were a racial thing.
am i wrong?
i was violated for using these things yet i had a question that had no mention of race or color. it was in the religion and spirituality section and had no abusive tones or offensive words at all.
so if an epithet or slur is not supposed to be part of racial abuse then what is it?

Why do we, as American’s want to tie ourselves to the old country? We use terms like…Mexican-American, African-American, Japanese-American, and so on and so on. I’m an American and I’m proud I’m an American and I’m proud of were my ancestors came from but I don’t tie myself down by calling myself an German-English-Irish-Scottish-American Indian-American. Sounds stupid doesn’t it? I am very proud of my heritage of were my roots stretch back but in the hear and now I am an American. No were else on this planet, with the exception of the Canadians of French decent, do the citizens of their respected nations call themselves in hyphenated terms. A Peruvian of Japanese decent doesn’t call himself a Japanese-Peruvian. An Australian of German decent doesn’t call himself a German-Australian so why do we as a people degrade ourselves so?

When I was in the military a few years ago, I was friends with Africans wherever I was stationed. But I found that if I went to Africa, I would never be allowed to live in Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, or anywhere because I am "akata".

Ok another question: For the people who say blacks are the most racist, do you want to be like them or something? Are you mad because it isn't socially acceptable for you to be openly racist anymore? Why would you want to be that way?

Not all Asians because I am one. I dont like the Asian culture, the way they always study so hard not have no social skills. Most Asian men dont have the guts to go up and talk to a beautiful hispanic woman. They can't take any jokes and are way to serious. I can say this because I was raised by Asian people.

Recently I asked a question here as follows...''Everyone went on about the cost of the Scottish Parliament. How much has Wembley stadium cost so far and when will it be finished?''
One response posted was as follows...

''Both projects were unnecessary, at least at Wembley English money is going on an English project rather then on the blood sucking leech of Scotland.''

My new question is now this. Why do so many English people get racist towards Scots, and why are we described as blood sucking leeches when in fact all of our income from oil, agriculture, fishing, tourism, whisky exportation, medical research, forestry, invention and innovation goes into British coffers?

I sometimes pity the Asian people for studying so hard and not getting any break. I think most of them lack confidence in their social skills because they spend to much time on their books. I am not saying all, but most are shy and not able to approach strangers as easily as the Caucasions or Africans or Hispanics.
