in the Amish culture, (im not amish) they dont and other women dont and have no hygiene issues either. so why do some women bother w it?

I do not do it myself and have no hygiene issues but many women like to douche after their monthly menses in order to "feel" clean. Some women are very sensitive to the smell there bodies give off and find it offensive. Either way it is not particularly healthy in that while they might be getting rid of some bad bacteria, they are also getting rid of their body's good bacteria that are present for a reason

Because Americans are obsessed with cleanliness. Also though, our society sets many double standards for women....the same women that men lust after are often later referred to as some how dirty.
Women douche to be clean however, douching is not actually good for women and can cause infections. It messes with the PH balance.
Women's bodies naturally clean themselves out.
If a woman's whoopsiedaisy smells bad, douching won't help. She probably already has an infection and needs medical attention. Douching can make an existing infecting worse.

I am going to be blunt...
After intercourse, not necessarily right afterwards , (but a few hours or the following morning) the semen that remains behind causes an unpleasent odor and douching rinses the cavity of any remaining fluids or discharge. So her hygiene is up to par .
also after her menstral cycle to douche also freshens her.

Cleanliness is next to Godlyness. That would be my thinking, since I'm a retired widower, at 70, I'm not going to worry about it. But what "Lilly" had to say may be of interest to woman.

Because they are raised thinking they need to squirt solutions in their __________ in order to keep it clean. A good shower is just fine.
