Apparently in Alcoholics Anonymous it is!

At an AA meeting last night, I spoke of empowering oneself and "accepting" the positive use of energy or power to change an often painful behaviour like the additiction to the drug alcohol. I was told that I had a disease and in denial! Furthermore, the word got out amonst the cult memebers that I have no God or deity and they all started to prostelytize me with their Christian God. One cult member said it was alright to have a door knob for a "higher power" and then laughed at me. What in the world is going on here?

In the animal kingdom memebers of a species, especially those that are heard oriented allow the slow and nonproductive to be killed off by predators. At what point should humans adopt a like policy and say you (person not group) are doing nothing to further the species and shuld therefore be thinned out? If a heard of bufalo is slowed down by a few that will not move with the pack they are killed by predators, natural or human. Even in a tribal stucture if you didn't contribute to the common good you were not allowed to eat. Why have we gotten away from these basic ideals and said the government will care for you?(from the ghetto and the trailer parks) not being exclusionary at all. I want my taxes to go to what they are supposed to not to support some ghetto/trailer park queen with 7 kids by 7 dads that cant figure out condoms are cheaper than kids.

Is this true? That clocks (especially clock-faces) represent death to oriental cultures (esp. Chinese people), and that they prefer not to have them displayed at home?
thanks if you know.........

I am living in the U.S. but several months ago I stay with my friend and her family when I visited Korea. I was wondering, is there anything I can send her family for chuseok? Or is it enough to call? If I call them, what should I say over the phone?

We work in a dull office and we're posing a question a day and we wondered - who gets in and why? What on earth is it? What are the handshakes and how do you do them? If anyone can answer, you will enrich our day!

I recently organized an event as part of the World Wide Picnic for Peace. News coverage of it was picked up why a White Nationalist Group and lampooned on their web site.
For my part I have passed on the site name to friends and told them to look at it for a good laugh.
However, the orginator of the event has I feel been badly hurt by their rantings. How would you all deal with it?

When im abroad it amazes me the number of people who think Scotland is an region/county in England

But on the other hand they always seem to prefer us Scots to English, so they recognise the people but not the country. Can anyone shed any light on this phenomenon.

Oh and i blame the BBC and TV as a whole. On phone ins we have John from the tiny hamlet of Pimple, and Bill from Scotland. Its a joke

Okay, please do not tell me that Italians are not all in the mob (I know this), I'm asking an honest question here and don't need to hear this repeated over and over. My question is, are you just a little scared or intimidated when you have a run-in with an Italian American? Does it ever cross your mind that he MIGHT be in the mob or MIGHT do something to you, so you react a little differently as a result? Some guy with the dark hair and olive skin and Italian mannerisms and voice--is that intimidating at all when you think about who he might be connected to or who he is?

I PERSONNALY LIVE IN A TOWN WHICH IS OVER RUN BY FORIGNERS NOT THAT I AM RACIST BUT I AM GETTING SICK OF NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND A JOB OR TO EVEN GO TO TESCO WITHOUT IT BEING OVER RUN BY FOREIGN PEOPLE SOMETIMES I THINK IM IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY! ESPECIALLY THE FACT THAT WE ARE PAYING OUR TAXES TOWARDS THEM! OUR TAXES ARE GOING UP DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FOREIGNERS IN OUR TOWN AND THE AMOUNT OF POLICING NEEDED TO CONTROL THEM ITS A DISGRACE THIS COUNTRY.
