I used to embrace my heritage until I got into geneology, and realized there are way, way, to many heritages in my background to embrace. So I just picked ones I like, even though I am not necessarily from that background.

So I embrace my Irish/Hungarian/Maori "heritage" as much as possible.

My father was the first generation here in USA. My grandparents emigrated here from Hungary in the early 1920s, coming in through Ellis Island. They totally massacred the spelling of my father's last name, using a phonetic spelling that was easier for them, I guess. Yes, I am proud of my heritage. And thankful that my grandparents, who I never did get to meet, had the fortitude and strength to give up was familiar to them and make the journey here. From what I understand, I only have one aunt left in Budapest. My father lost the rest of his family, who perished as a result of all the conflict over there.

Well... My father was born in Tennessee, My grandmother and my mom, including three uncles immigrated from South Korea to California. I embrace my asian heritage because it's a part of me and who I am and who I am to become. I'm actually more proud of being part Asian then White. It does become a pain though. In church white kids think im asian, but when I go to an asian church or an asian market, they all think i'm white. So it is really hard to fit in sometimes. Azn Pryde <3

Embrace 100%! We're Scandinavian. I'm third or fourth generation, but my Mom still insists on serving Swedish meatballs and Lutefisk on Christmas eve. My sister and I are both fluent in Norwegian and I know how to knit and rosemal.

My heritage is so mixed up I couldn't shun it if I wanted to. I wouldn't know where to start!

When people ask me what I am, I say I'm a Brooklynite.
