I believe there is racism.

Reverse racism is just a term used in our society to show that people who historically were being discriminators, are being discriminated against. It implies that the group which would be discriminated against (the minority) is not being discriminated against.

A true story that happened to me.
At our school, we started an "Irish Pride" club. We specifically invited the girls who we knew had an Irish heritage. We also made announcements that ANYONE was welcome. My friend, an African joined us. Another girl (who is what is technically called "a minority") never talked to the club moderators, never asked anyone in the club about the club, and even admitted she was not interested in joining. Even so, she went to the administration, told them she felt uncomfortable with the RACISM that was happening in our school, and that the Irish Pride club should be shut down. We were, because one girl thought it was not fair.

On the other hand, my friend, an African who is black, was invited to join the African American heritage club. Their stated motto was, "Those with and without African heritage celebrating together." I am white in skin color from my father's Irish heritage. However, my mother's heritage is Egyptian - which is African - and I identify strongly with that. I asked the student moderator to join and was told - exact quote - "This club is for African girls only." I told her I had an African heritage, and she said "Well, we only want black girls."
I apporached our administration with the incident and asked what I should do. I was told to brush it off and not mention it, because we did not want negative publicity for racism. THe schoool was worried that shutting down an all - black club would be seen as racism.

Make of this what you will.

Yes there is such a thing and there seems to problems with it since it is working sometimes in the favor of minorities and women. Imagine that. Minorities and women have always had to fight their way up the ladder and still even with reverse racism we still sometimes get the end of the short end of the stick. White people have been stealing everything that isn't nailed down and i'm not a racist by far. My boyfriend is white and I love him greatly. I'm not speaking of all white people but the majority would rather a dog do the job than a woman or a minority. When are we going to wake up?

Yes, it is when someone reveres a race to such an extreme that they cannot imagine or conceive of someone from that race being less than their perceived image. Examples - now a days: The Noble Indian {Amerindian} is a big one. Like in movies such as Dances With Wolves. People are people, there will always be good and bad people in any group. To think that All people of one race are intrinsically good is reverse racism.

Bottom line is this: if I am not qualified for a job, fine, let the white person get it. I am not mad at that. I can't get pissed at that. But if I am black, and am highly qualified, and they hire me over a white person. Kudos! There is no such thing as reverse racism because white people on the whole still have it soooo good. My mom has been working for years over here and was valued as an exceptional worker, but once she moved to another state(red neck town), the whites treated her differently. All of a sudden these people tell her she has no credentials, and she must take the lowest pay. And get this: the white woman who knows jack nothing about computers get the job and tells my mother!!! Wtf. Racism is still here, and until we are on equal planes, affirmative action should stay.

Yes.

Two people take a test to become a professional Firefighter. One scores a 97%. The other Scores a 58%. The second gets the job, because he is black, the other is white, and affermative action must be upheld. True Story from Maryland.

Another true one...
My father worked for the City of Seattle for 30 years. He never took vacation time, worked weekends... knew his sh1t inside out. Never even took sick days. Never got promoted. Because the "minority" or the "woman" who wasn't half as knowledgable or devoted as my father would have thrown a hissy fit if they didn't get the promotion. Yes, I'm bitter about that.

Even the word "minority" when used in this context means "everybody but a white person".

REVERSE, as in racism that goes backwards?????

White people use that term when they are discriminated against. Sounds to me like they think they shouldn't be discriminated against more so than everyone else.

NO, there is NO SUCH THING AS REVERSE RACISM. Eilther you're racist or not, your not racist going backward.

yes, example is a minority has the chance to get certain jobs before a caucasion does. Employees have percentage ratios that they must fill as well as female positions. Reverse racism would mean that a qualified caucasion would apply for the job position that is empty, but the minority who isn't really qualified applies for the same job. Now no openings are open right now for the caucasion as all those percentages are filled so they hire the minority.

You should be careful when saying reverse racism about a situation or topic. When a person says reverse racism they are ultimately saying that there is racism about the topic or situation

Yes. The one way it happens is when one feels the other is get all the best things in life.
In this country whites are feeling they are being made to work for the races when there tax money is used for the other races that are not working. The poor feel the rich should give part of their wealth to them. The thing is we can not all be equal with one another there will allways
be the rich and the poor.

A white person gets mad when he has to go to work every day to support a black person on welfare at home watching TV. Because of this the black person has the advantage in the job application and hiring process.

We want poor blacks on welfare to go to work but we do not want them to take the job opportunities from the whites. So what exactly do we want? We want to adopt the policy that if they are not qualified, they do not deserve to have that job. Then we can send them back home to collect welfare.
