After going through some of the questions on here, I can no longer look at this society through rose-colored glasses. I really thought the U.S. was on it's way to being color blind, but I guess not. How can I, as a sociology major , possibly see any reason to try to change a world that is still so backwords. It's 2006 and people, black, white, and hispanic, are just as racist as if it were 1906. What do we do now?

Teenager gils.. why are you still having babys.. in this generaton?

Why is society so unforving of those who have made mistakes and need a second chance?

I find myself coming against barriers in employment and housing as I strive to move forward in life. why are some women trying to be equal to men,wen they can never be?

women cannot be equal to men and nor can men be equal to women.
and we learn this even from basic biology.
so its a big duhhhhh.
i'm a muslim, and would definetly say women can do things that men cant and there are certain things that men can do that women cant.
but in islam both men and women have rights.

Are Swedes good at charades?

If you look at the assembly instructions from IKEA, there's no words, just some comic book characters acting out a scene. For example, a drawing of a man wearing protective gloves means "you have to screw the table leg in real tight, cause it wasn't designed to go in easily". I figure Swedes have some special talent for understanding this stuff!

What is up with skin tones and attraction these days?

Why do MOST guys seem to find lighter color toned black women more attractive than darker tones and then on the same note find darker toned white women more attractive? I've seen this happen for years. I don't mean to say ALL guys have this attraction, but it is there or tanning salons would not be so popular and lighter skinned black actresses would not be so popular. Let's use common sense.

aren't there more racist post from whites?

some of the white people on yahoo answers say that blacks are racist, but just by being on yahoo answers i have seen more racist post from whites saying things like "why do black people arm pitts stink" and other ignorant s h i t even on jokes/riddles board its always a joke about a black person, and why is there bet and black history month you dont see black people posting "why is there abc or country music channel" or christopher columbus day (when his a s s did nothing but steal the land) and presidents day (there are no black presidents) so we are celebrating white men who lie, but you dont see us asking why we have to celebrate those certain days, we just get something for us and wait for you whites to get angry and jealous.
