When I was young, I was absolutely convinced that homosexuality was immoral, and that Jesus and religion were the cure. I desperately wanted a little house with a white picket fence; a wife; kids; the whole nine yards. Unfortunately, God refused to answer my prayers to "turn" me straight. For a long time I thought that was His way of telling me "You're gay, now I don't want you anymore". Now, I think that the only thing I need to forgive myself for is allowing people with this twisted ideology to stand between me and God for so many years. What do you think? Did you ever try to "cure" yourself? What were the results? Do you still think it's possible? I'm curious to know both the fundamentalist and the gay perspective.

First, look at my name, and look at my previous answers. I am not gay, nor do I bash gays. We are all human.

I have always read here that being homesexual is "not a choice" and that "we are born this way". Most everyone who says that, leads one to believe that it's scientifically proven. I never thought that was true, but not being a LGBT, I was only here to learn about it, because a very good friend of mine is gay, and I wanted to learn more about them.

Anyway, I have checked with the AMA, the APA, and NARTH and have found the following. The AMA does NOT state that it is genetic or inborn. See the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons at http://www.jpands.org/vol10no3/lehrman.pdf

Also, NARTH, National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (http://www.narth.com/docs/correctionletter2.html) has seemed to say basically the same thing. I am NOT trying to stir up problems, but can someone point me to the medical or scientific proof that I missed ?

Find messing with the trolls relaxing. I know this makes me sound like a jerk, but seriously does anybody else blow off steam this way.

My boyfriend of a year just told me yesterday that he sometimes fantasizes about other men. He said that if we weren't together he would even consider having sex with a man, but not a relationship. We are sexually active and he says he likes having sex with me. He also says he is not bisexual. This makes no sense to me and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it's normal.

So if gays are sick and they are going to hell for it, then does that mean someone with "another" terminal illness, disability, and/or disorder is going to burn in hell for being sick? Why or why not?

I'm an openly gay man. A few month ago my roommate ( straight so he says) and best friend of about 5 years kissed me ..We were on a business trip together and due to a booking error were only able to get a room with a king sized bed. Well late that night i was awaken by a hand stroking my temple. He was wide awake. e made eye contact. Before i could fully comprehend what was going he leaned in and kissed me.
Fast forward several months I find my self still asking what was up with that and what should I do ? We never talked about it .. Should we? I have developed a crush . What should i do?

ok...so for valentines day....i put a white rose in my gf's locker...and a note saying i loved her. then after school i took her back to my house...and had these little notecards with hints....like basically sending her on a scavenger hunt...looking for more clues...which led to her actual gift which was a tiffany necklace and bracelet and a bear that said i love you. is that sweet.....or cheesy??

We've been dating for about a month, so nothing too serious.
I will report you if you say anything insulting against gay/lesbians. This is an honest question, so keep your judgment to yourself.
