I worked at Wal Mart for 7 years.

I got better wages there than I could have gotten at other similar jobs.

Wal Mart WAS sexist in who they would promote when I first started working there, but that has changed big time! And the change happened long before this "WalMart is Evil" crap started.

NO ONE have EVER asked me to work off the clock! (But I was told to take off the WalMart smock if I didn't want to help customers on my lunch break)

I was never allowed to skip a lunch break! The lunch breaks might have been at odd hours (to accommidate an unexpected rush) but I always got my lunch break.

Because the schedule requirements of a retail department store, most of their employees are part-time, therefore don't qualify for insurance. But where did we get the idea that empolyees owe us insurance? They owe us pay for the work we do!

Employees CAN vote to have a union, Walmart just campaigns bigtime to the employees that they don't need unions, so they haven't voted for unions yet. You can usually tell when you are in a business where employees have unions because the service is so crappy. Why go out of your way to do your best if the slug who does barely enough get the same pay & same promotions?

All my experience as a WalMart employee was that it is a great place to work if you like working with the public, have a flexible schedule (or are available for weekends & evenings), and either need to only suppliment other income (I was a substitute teacher for a while & had a daycare for a while) or want to climb the ladder into management.

As a customer, Walmart is the first place I shop. YOu can't find one place that has everything, but Walmart comes pretty close. And usually at the best price.

All this "WalMart is Evil" stuff is a mystery to me!

They also do not give their full-time workers salary until after a year working there. Most people probably quit before they make it to a year. How do you think they can afford to have such low prices? Well, think about it-someone is losing out. And, unfortunately it is their workers. Not to mention, they treat their female workers horribly. But, oh well-we Americans allow this to happen. How do I fight it? I try not to shop there.
Not really seeing why this is LGBT though. ?

The Walton kin are evil. Sam Walton is remembered as a kindly previous christian guy with a small city smile and a mouth which spit out patriotism. I remember him touting "American Made" products at his aw-shucks shops. attempting looking something made in us of a there now. How christian are you even as your 5 children are between the ten richest pigs in the international? even as your daughter Alice drives round inebriated, operating over and killing human beings? Walmart is draining American's tax money (authentic, middle-classification individuals, no longer the untaxed wealthy who cover maximum their dough off-shore) by potential of paying their workers so affordably that a majority of them might want to get nutrition stamps to feed their households. WalMart has ruined tens of millions of manufacturing jobs in us of a by potential of starting to be so enormous and significant an account that their avaricious demands first compelled manufacturers to make more cheap high quality products, then lay off workers and finally flow to China or India the position they could enslave and pollute workers in risky environments. WalMart has gutted important street, small city us of a by potential of installation their places miles from any city's classic middle, on more cheap homes, promoting their low-priced crap meant to positioned all the mum and pa, small organizations below. that is why the variety of tremendous variety of cities look as if ghost cities. WalMart is us of a's enemy, they're no longer something more effective than Communist China's outlet, they hate American workers and do not for one minute imagine that they have got something in spite of the undeniable fact that the worst intentions for a rustic that they race to make a third international us of a.

I have my suspicions about walmart..they DO treat their employees abysmally. They have given money to gay causes--but made very certain that they were very public about it. All in all I think that wal mart is just a greedy company that will do anything to get money.

they are just being cheap like most employers these days, but I'd still say evil overall. there was that lawsuit against them about forced unpaid overtime and now there's a new one claiming discrimination against women. there are other big companies out there without these problems....

Evil all the way. They have plenty of money and they don't even need half of it. They could give their employees all insurance for free and they could still buy all of Africa.

Evil.
Cities and towns have to go to court to stop them from opening stores there.
If a person forced themselves on you would you like them...NO!
