or is it paranoia, or maybe I did something awful in a previous life. This year especially, every time I get some spare cash, a bill arrives(correction, I don't get bills I get williams) or something breaks down(which seems to happen in three's),and every time I get some time off, I get ill until it is time to go to work. Today, helping number one son move house, I go and sprain my ankle. Guess what ? I have a week off now and had planned all sorts, but have been scuppered.Perhaps I have offended the Gods in some way. Off to sacrifice a goat. (Not really. Ran out of goats!) Am I alone?

My favorite was Three Billy Goats Gruff. It taught me:
1. Don't be greedy.
2. No matter how tough you think you are, there's always someone bigger and badder out there, who's more than happy to kick your butt!!

Serious question. I do and will always continue to do so. As Christmas time approaches, spare a thoght for those who can't afford anything, let alone, a Christmas dinner. Some suggestions.
1) Buy a small toy for the Salvation Army, they distribute to poor children at Christmas.
2) Send a Christmas Card to some "Retirement Homes" , even if you don't know anyone there.
3) Take a toy to Church, to be given to any poor families with children.
All ideas welcome?

I did, once, it was horrible. We were are a keg party in college and she was a gymnist, all the guys were after her, so she grabbed me and off in a rowboat we went, I lost the oars in the lake, we had to spend the night floating, and I lost my shorts somehow, and one sneaker. I had to swim the boat back at first light and people were still partying on the dock. Imagine my horror when I climbed out of the water. Later she told me she was a lesbian. That made me feel better, sort of.

Anything like that ever happen to you?

I'd like to see some opinions on whether people think it's right or wrong, natural, or a choice, those kinds of things. I, personally, believe it's a natural thing and it's nothing to be ashamed or disgusted of.
Thanks in advance for your answers!

I understand some women cloak themselves and no woman is supposed to look directly at men they do not know. Would this not present a great barrier to communication? Can anyone enlighten me please?

Or did you not wan't to get involved out of fear to be bullied?

I was bullied at school for years but I have also taken part in bullying others to "protect myself" a number of times. For me it started in first grade, ugly shoes I think it was and I guess I took on the role as the victim since it continued after changing schools.

I've been thinking about this a lot over the years and been following what's been done about this at schools and then , of course, serious actions taken by kids who were bullied are in the news every now and then.

Thank you for sharing your experience, views, ideas in this matter.

Have a good day/night

on books that were popular one or two hundred years ago or more? Why don't they use contemporary literature that is in vogue today? Why must the continually bore the children with tripe that has no bearing on the literary market today?

I have co-workers at my job who are dark and they made some comments today about how i get treated better in society than them because i'm "light-skin" I told them that at the end of the day we're all black so skin tone doesn't matter. We argued for about 10 minutes before i just realized that you can't argue with ignorance and i just walked away. This wasn't the first time i've heard this said and it hurts because i don't feel privileged at all. I'm struggling just like everybody else! Has anybody else has this problem?

My son's friend told me the kids picked on her because she talks white. Her mom is a high school English teacher and so she has been schooled on grammar all her life. Why should having good grammar just be a white thing? I know white people that don't speak so well. This 10 year old has me beat when it comes to English. So why do some people put this label on black people that have good language skills?

Dear Lord

So far today I am doing alright

I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or self indulgent.
I have not whined, complained, cursed or eaten any chocolate.
I have charged nothing on my credit card.

But I will be getting out of bed in a minute and I think I really will need your help then!

Amen

Hey there, i just wanna ask all those Europeans out there, do you feel European? Does any European feel that he shares a common identity with a Scotsman, an Finn, a Greek, a Romanian, an Italian? Do you have the sense of unity( i wouldn't even dare go to brotherhood), do you take pride in the fact that you are European? Or do you simply feel that Europe ans has just went through to much against one another to actually unify in the end and form a pan-european nation.
