due to unforseen circumstances, what would you do? All my friends are either sick, busy or unavailable. I am going to be 55 on November 15 and I am single. Thanks to all who participate.

Myself, I would choose Jimmy Stewart. He was such a gifted actor, had a passion for life, and was such a compassionate person.

First off, let me apologize for rushing right to the Senior Citizen board with this question, I just hoped to have more "been there and this is what I did/am doing" type answers.

My grandmother has had heart problems her whole life and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, heart disease, etc. She has just recovered from a stroke ( Go Her!) and is doing really well, except for the fact that her doctors seem to have her on a zillion blood thinners. She's handling that quite well, but we're from Buffalo, NY and it's starting to get COLD.

She seems to be always freezing and I'm looking for a gift to send her (I'm in CA) that would help keep her toasty, but I don't know what would be the best thing. I've thought of slippers and sweaters and heated throws for when she's watching TV and things like that, but I was hoping to hear from someone who had been through a similar situation and could tell me "hey this is really great".

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks in advance!

So that they dont ruin your Chistmas.

Do you think there is any way to change how they feel? What would you do to nudge them gently into enjoying Christmas? It isnt about the money, or the gifts because I have always believed Christmas is about being with good friends, or family, if you have any, great food, and just enjoying yourselves. I have never gone all out for Christmas, not since the kids were very little.

What would you buy a man who says he doesnt want anything, doesnt need anything, doesnt think Christmas should be used as an excuse to buy things for people because it just another day. He doesnt mind chowing down on turkey and all the trimming though.

No he isnt Jewish, or cheap, he is just a real grinch --

Chopsticks?
Paper Lanterns?
Samurai?
The Phoenix?
No Dragons.
Flowers? Lotus...etc
Really big goldfish?

There are people out there who are trying to make it legal for gay people to get fired from their jobs or kick out of a restaurant just because they're gay.

I do, and honestly don't know how to deal w/it, so I choose not to even go socialize w/them at all.{maybe like 3 x per yr.}

Well the thing is, my husband and his friend have a common hobby--working on cars. His friends longtime gf, always acting pissy at me if "I didn't hang out w/her".But since I work some opposite shifts as my husband, and don't really have common interests w/this woman, it suits me much better to stay away from her.Plus she's ALWAYS interrupting me in conversation, sometimes gives me dirty looks because my husband and I have a close relationship and she told me that she was jealous of me because of my low weight and talents (it's just REAL stupid man!! stupid and idiotic--like high school she behaving, and she's 33!!)anyway, she acts like she doesn't have respect for the fact that my husband and I are a couple, overstepping her bounderies. Not so much flirting usually,--it's very difficult to explain really.I guess what I'm trying to say is she acts like her bf an

Hello! :)

I'm 30 years old, and I've always been curious about women who lived in the 1930's, 40's, and 50's--and wondered what they used for Birth Control? For example, I've always wondered how women like Marilyn Monroe did not get pregnant.

My grandma had 11 kids (she was born in 1935), and I hear many stories of women back then who had 17 kids. My God! Whew! But I see that many movie stars did not have many children--So, 'fess up! What was the secret to not getting knocked up, I mean, "with child" back then? :)

..thank you in advance :)

OK, I am in a bank. A 50+ year old man is standing in line in front of me. He is African-American black, not an islander. His underware is 4" above his pants, his pants are BELOW his belt-line. He has NO belt, and is holding his pants UP by holding his crotch with his right hand.

Now he THINKS he looks great! Flirts with all the black women in the bank. They look at him with disgust. He then, when feeling the rejection, says they have "turned white."

I thought only TEENAGERS acted this stupid. Is there more out there like him?

Do you think that government has a right to
decide a family type for us? Why or why not? Do
you think that people should have freedom to
choose their own family styles as long as they do
not hurt others? Why or why not?

Across the world, some governments limit the
number of children a couple can have, many
governments limit the number of spouses a person
can have at one period of time. Some governments
decide the conditions for divorce, while some
governments prohibit marriage between people of
the same sex.

We watched it today, Michael (John Travolta) is an angel who said, "I'm a writer too, I wrote Psalms 85. Only it wasn't called 85 when I wrote it, I didn't know they were gonna gather them and number them."

Ever see it?
