My favorite was Three Billy Goats Gruff. It taught me:
1. Don't be greedy.
2. No matter how tough you think you are, there's always someone bigger and badder out there, who's more than happy to kick your butt!!

The Lion and the Mouse. About a mouse who happened into the mouth of a sleeping lion, the lion awoke and was about to eat the mouse, the mouse begged for his life and promised to be everlastingly grateful. Then the lion was caught in hunter's rope trap and the mouse helped the lion free by chewing the ropes off. Moral: A sudden change of affairs can make the most powerful owe everything to the weakest.

Hey that was one of my favorite books to read!!! With the troll under the bridge. I had forgotten about that story. I had so many. Let's see I liked to read Hansel & Gretal (sp?). I don't think it was a Fairy Tale but I also liked the Five Chinese Brothers. Each has a special gift that got them out of trouble.

No just joking, Roger was my prince.

The Grasshopper and the Ant. I took that to heart and it grieves me that the kids today think it is going to last forever, their frivolous ways, I mean.
