or is it paranoia, or maybe I did something awful in a previous life. This year especially, every time I get some spare cash, a bill arrives(correction, I don't get bills I get williams) or something breaks down(which seems to happen in three's),and every time I get some time off, I get ill until it is time to go to work. Today, helping number one son move house, I go and sprain my ankle. Guess what ? I have a week off now and had planned all sorts, but have been scuppered.Perhaps I have offended the Gods in some way. Off to sacrifice a goat. (Not really. Ran out of goats!) Am I alone?

Please don't let us get too serious with the answers. Although the question is correct I am philosophical about it and it makes me smile. Sod and Murphy have a lot to answer for.

Nah, I don't believe in all that stuff. Those things happen to everybody, it's not like you're cursed or something. But just in case.....STAY AWAY FROM ME AND MY GOATS!!! Just kidding, I hope you feel better soon!

Sod's Law is that if something can happen, it will happen. Usually this occurrence happens at the most inconvenient time.
Sod's Law never happens in three's unless it does. But not always. Spare cash for a bill is not Sod's Law. That's good fortune. Sod's Law never brings good fortune.

you are not alone,
this month i won a little money on my premium bonds. then yesterday some one crashed into my car which now means the little amount i won has to pay for the exces on the insurance.

last month i got a pay rise bringing in an extra £100 a month I was hoping to save it for a rainy day and see if i could treat my wife with a holiday abroad by the end of next year, thrilled as i was to find out when i got home that day that my fridge freezer had broke & smelling food had to be thrown away along with a trip to a store to organise a new one on hp & a freezer load of food.

it never rains, it pours..........

Yes, when it rains it pours. Whatever anything goes wrong or breaks, seems like something else does too. There's always things that need fixed, paid, replaced, etc. There are times like that for most of us. I try to remember whatever is going on won't last though and soon it will be something else to deal with. lol Hope you're ankle heals quickly.

I feel that way too sometimes but I think just try and do good for others and I do believe in Karma now. So treat others well and ask for forgiveness for the bad that you may have done knowingly or unknowingly this life/previous life. lol

God Bless You. I thought I was the only one. These things happen to me all the time. I was thinking I must have been a terrible person in my past life. (if there was one)
I sometimes wonder what I have done to bring on all of this rotten luck.

I know exactly how you feel, but this is not Sod's Law in action. It's you. Make some "me" time and tell the family to sod off.

on account that your requesting opinions.... The impediment with those "comments" is they twist the numbers in choose of the outcomes they choose. (the two expert- or anti- does an analogous). yet we could savor some fairly truths suited right here. actual suffering replaced into as quickly as a classic form of punishment for ALL offenders (individual and teenager) "returned in the day". in simple terms about all those punishment, arguably -- all worked to punish the wrongdoer. in spite of the shown fact that, regulations were enacted to resign actual punishment (as cruel and uncommon) to each individual different than little ones -- the very ones that would nicely be between the main susceptible to the harms of "over-punishment". Are little ones as nicely form the great protection of regulation? thousands of thousands of hundreds of little ones grew as much as come back to be efficient adults that for the period of no way as quickly as endured actual punishment. This on my own is sufficient evidence to exhibit that raising a teenager without installation actual has especially top success rates. That pronounced, there's no longer any could threat a teenager's wellbeing and wellbeing and well-being to an over-zealous, dominating parent who thinks their form of brutal punishment is sweet, or justified. remember: Slavery replaced into as quickly as authorized and justified at one time too. yet then...we progressed. Twisting the meaning of words to furnish a sturdy meaning could be accepted. - "subject" recommendations-set: performing in accordance of the guidelines of habit. - Punishment is a end consequence to no longer being disciplined. they do no longer seem an analogous element. Spanking isn't "subject". it particularly is punishment. If a parent hung out beyond regulation working on the fairly meaning of subject, they does no longer might desire to punish.

Sounds a lot like Murphy's law "anything that can go back will ---- and at the most inopportune time"

No. if I didn't have bad luck other than meeting all of you fine people, I wouldn't have any luck at all. And I want to say that I resemble that fact as my real name is William, thank you very much.
