yes, I still smoke on occasion, but no, haven't done that....
short story...I did work across the street from a court house, stood outside smoking....overweight attorney purposefully crossed the street to tell me, "young lady, you know that is bad for you". Without blinking I said, "yes, I do know....but I also know that the Ben and Jerry's you're putting away isn't doing you any great favors either!" He couldn't stop laughing long enough to get the word, touche' out of his mouth. *w* And yes, I will keep trying to quit!

Fortunately have been off the habit for a few months (after 40 plus years). But if there was a cigarette in my mouth the light was close enough behind it that it's a wonder I still have hairs in my nostrils. Think it would be worth a chuckle though -- it hasn't been that long since I had to deal with the holier than thous.

Good Question Morgan O.
I'm wondering why the Security never says anything to Mall Employees when they are out smoking in "No Smoking areas" that are marked as such but I as a smoker, I can't smoke there.
Double standards as always.

I have not smoked for 12 years now but I used to and think Graces answer is very funny. I can remember always having that one between my lips ready to go where I could light up.

No I haven't done that. When I was young my mother told me that a woman looked "slutty" with a cigarette hanging out of her month. I can't seem to get away from all those things my mother said. She had some duzzies.

A friend of mine held one in a restaurant just to take the edge off. Several people made the comment it was a nonsmoking section and got angry when she didn't put it away. It wasn't lite so I didn't understand why it mattered.

Grace, that's too funny!
That sounds like something hubby would do. He's quite happy doing weird things just to see what kind of reaction he'll get. I just hang back, amused, and pretend I don't know him.

I was enrolled in school, our smoking section was down in the parking garage so if we didn't get enough carbon monoxide from smoking, we could huff a muffler. I thought that was a riot!

Nope, never have done that one! lol
I and my best friend frequent only restaurants and outdoor areas that allow smoking....which is getting harder and harder round these parts!
Montgomery Co., MD is a no-no for us now. You can't even smoke outside!
D.C. has gone smokeless in restaurants etc
VA is still a smoker's paradise!

No Morgan I haven't ... I would have to light it!!!
It would just be to much to bear! And this crap about not being able to smoke in bars is totally ridiculous! We belong to private clubs where we can still smoke... you know, Amvets, American Legion, my porch! lol
