I have bartended at several upscale catering and banquet facilities for years. Why is it that at a Irish or Italian wedding people tip generously but at ANY Jewish event the guests do not tip nearly at all?

At a typical non-Jewish wedding I can make on average of $150 in tips but at a Jewish wedding or 'Mitzvah I will get less than $10. No lie...$10 for a full shift.

Like most in the food service industry bartenders work for tips.

They (Jews) will come up to the bar and pull out a fold of money until their drink is poured ("we call this threatening to tip") and then put it away when we hand them the drinks without even peeling off a single dollar for the bartender!!! They do this so the bartender will make a stronger drink for them thinking that they are going to get a tip out of it.

So tell me...Why won't the Jews tip?

This is not an anti-semetic post. It's a real question for a real and ongoing situation.

Washington just struck down a law making it legal for same sex marriage. How much further down the road to ruin will the US go before it self destructs?
I mean honestly, what's next? Denying the vote to Blacks and Women? How about making interracial marriage illegal again?
Honestly, if some people think it's acceptable to deny a basic civil right to a certian segment of the population, why not others?
(oh and for those of you who don't understand that marriage is a civil right, let me educate you; Marriage is a LEGAL institution, not a religious one. Want proof? Try to get married in a church without the legal paperwork. You can't. Now get married by a justice of the peace at city hall without any mention of a magic sky-pixie. No problem at all. See how that works? Good).

I dress like a boy because the clothes are more comfortable and look better and have a mohawk. I sit like a guy and have my nails short but only so I can play piano better. I guess I do look like a guy but I don't do it on purpose. I would much rather look like a girl in boys clothes with a mohawk (How do I do that?). But anyway, what kind of lesbian would I be considered? I like all kinds of girls though. I know I shouldn't lable myself, but I just want to know what I would be considered if it ever came up? And, if you don't mind my asking, how do I look more like a girl without changing the comfortable clothes and hairstyle?

Now before I even get started, let me make sure I clear up a few things:
1) I am not gay
2) I have no issues with being gay AND
3) This only annoys me on principle – not some hidden desire to be gay or anything like that. Ok, here we go…

I have a friend at college (he is male) and he tells us (my other friends) how he likes to hook up with guys for sex on occasion and all that that entails…ok… use your imagination folks. My 1st question to him is "why the hell are you telling me this" – followed by, “why didn’t you tell me you were gay or bi?”

He swears up and down that he is not – and says that he loves girls, and that he is just attracted to the male body, but not emotionally. I am thinking to myself, “SO! WTF! Dude, you are f#cking guys!” It does not matter if you *love them* or not, you still are having sex with them – that makes you gay!

So basically, my question is am I right or is my friend right believing that as long as you do not love them you are not gay or bi?

I'm in college now, but when I was in high school, I fell in love with a guy in my class. I made it pretty obvious how I felt about him, even though not many people thought he was attractive. He was nice to me, but never asked me out. Recently he came out as gay, and I am completely mortified that I threw myself at him like that. Not because I'm ashamed that I liked him (he's witty, smart, and creative) but because I know I must have gotten on his nerves so badly with my blatant crush. We're not in touch, so I can't discuss this with him. Have any of you had a straight girl get a heavy crush on you and how did you feel about it?

I have been getting really fed up with homosexual lately. The odd thing is I have pretty many homosexual friends that I have known for a while. However in last few years, I met a few homosexual guys and become friend.

However I stop hang out with them or talk with them because they either try to get me to try homosexual stuff, try to tell me that being with a man is no different from being with a woman, ask me stupid question such as if I want them to undress or if I want to measure their dick eventhought they know I'm straight, and other things.

I asked few of homosexual friends who I'm still friend with (I know most of them for 5 years or more) about this. None of them really understand a such behave and ask me if I make it clear to them I'm straight.

However that doesn't stop people from thinking I'm a homophobic. I have at least 5 very good friends who are homosexual that I never had any problem with. I use to have a homosexual roommate and never have any problem.
