Now before I even get started, let me make sure I clear up a few things:
1) I am not gay
2) I have no issues with being gay AND
3) This only annoys me on principle – not some hidden desire to be gay or anything like that. Ok, here we go…

I have a friend at college (he is male) and he tells us (my other friends) how he likes to hook up with guys for sex on occasion and all that that entails…ok… use your imagination folks. My 1st question to him is "why the hell are you telling me this" – followed by, “why didn’t you tell me you were gay or bi?”

He swears up and down that he is not – and says that he loves girls, and that he is just attracted to the male body, but not emotionally. I am thinking to myself, “SO! WTF! Dude, you are f#cking guys!” It does not matter if you *love them* or not, you still are having sex with them – that makes you gay!

So basically, my question is am I right or is my friend right believing that as long as you do not love them you are not gay or bi?

He's bi. Whoopity doo. The reason why some people deny it is that straight people have created this silly society where intimacy (emotional or otherwise) between males is seen as emasculating.

So your choice now is to either be part of the problem or part of the solution. Either way you seem a *little too* invested in what your buddy is doing.

Just read a few of the comments made by people on here. You can see how ignorant and closed minded some are. They are not accepting. Most people in this world want to be accepted. Being openly gay is not the way to do that. It's easier to do what you want and deny the truth. The cost for being honest with others (in this aspect of life) is too high for some.

If he attracted to the male body then maybe, however you can sleep with people of both sexes and that does not means your gay or bi. Some gay guys sleep with girls but they are completely gay.

Even today, when gay is more readily accepted, it may be difficult to admit that you are gay. It's a lifestyle decision and maybe he's not ready for the lifestyle. It's a hard decision.
As for your question, I think it's the attraction that decides if you are gay or not, and if he's attracted to guys, even if he says he doesn't love them, yes, he's still gay. Please continue to be his friend.

Maybe he is gay. But either way, it doesn't matter. If he comes out in ten years or tomorrow that's his choice, not yours. Respect him and his decisions.

Do you really care who he sleeps with? Or is your main concern that he's probably getting WAY more gay sex then you're getting str8 sex?

He's physically attracted to the male gender.
That's all that can be determined.

It's a normal part of the coming out process...eventually your friend will move on...It's difficult for him.
