I am a 13 year old girl in Austin, TX, and I am homeschooled so I have LOTS of free time. I want something where I can see the kids over and over like once, twice, or three times a week, but the same kids. So that they get to know me, and I get to know them. Something like safeplace but you have to be 18 to volenteer at most places like that. Kind of like a kid's home? Like an orphanage or something? And maybe I could take them christmas presents or something? I know this might no t make a lot of sense, but I want to help kids less fourtanate than me. Please answer.

Because I have like 40 hours to complete and frankly I'm bored staying at home all the time. I'm 16 in 2 months!

I love working with people. I love music 2 (dunno if it helps)!

I'm trying to raise money, and I'm thinking of going to each house in my community, and explaining what I'm trying to raise money for. They can donate as much as they want...like a dollar?

Would this be effective?

Well Im currently a student at University of Florida. What I was thinking of doing by either taking a year off or just doing it after I graduate is....making a website and trying to gather various media attention in which people will vote on what I do to raise money for the cure for cancer (or HIV or something along those lines, the main idea is to make a difference)...It would all involve me traveling, and the bigger the task the more donation required to vote for that...ie 25 cents per vote that i bike from my home in tampa to Orlando....ranging up to maybe $50 or $100 per vote that I walk from Tampa (or Gainesville) to California....and maybe a slightly lower donation amount that I'll ride a bike for the journey...and an even lower amount for me to walk/bike to New York from Florida. Well what do you think about the idea? Would it work?

I am currently in my first semester studying Early Childhood Education (ECE) at Seneca. I am planning on graduating as an Early Childhood Educator and continuing my education. I love working with children and I would love to work or volunteer at an orphanage. My goal would be for the children to be happy and have fun. I would like to spend time with them, get to know each one of them (just like a teacher would with his/ her students).

Would I be able to work in an orphanage after I finish school or would I have to study Social Work to be able to work with orphans?

It's an operation out of NY, NY. I think it was 5th Avenue, but not sure. Children write to Santa and the charity sends the letters on to people who offer to fill the needs of the children. What's the name of it? I've looked all over the web. Thank you!

Ex Scotland, now in New Zealand. 66 yrs old. Seek sponsors to enable me to do charity walk around Britain. Over 4000 kms - 5 months. In aid of Brit. Heart Foundation.
I had quad. heart bypass 1977 - wish to make contribution. On superannuation. Have airfare only. Need about 14000 pounds.
Possible English friend, also quad. bypass, will walk with me.
I'm writing book on this, and proceeds from it, if any, to go to N Z Heart Foundation. Email tkr0013@iconz.co.nz if you want a pdf copy of draft of book so far. It's a bit humourous (I hope) and has maps of planned route and tentative stop places.
Anyone wanting to walk part or all with me most welcome, more so if you can help raise funds.
David.

As it is nearing the Christmas season, I realize that alot of parents out there can barely afford to pay the bills, let alone scape up some money to buy their kids Christmas presents.
I am 16, and I come from a good family, and make good money. But for some reason this made me sad knowing that kids out there will be sad on Christmas. Where can I donate some money to help them?

Do they share the same crest? Are regular fireman paraphanailia appropriate gifts for Volunteer Firemen?

Just a side note... I love all firemen and think you all do a wonderful job especially vol. firemen because they do it for the people, not the money. God Bless you all this holiday season. Merry Christmas.

"How do I look"
"Is he/she hot"
"Rate Me/him/her"
"What do you think of Him/her"

Why are the opinions of complete stangers so important???
Can you not make decision for your self?? are you so worried what someone else thinks that you have lost all self confidence??

(and be serious, think for yourselfs when and if you have the courage to answer honestly)
