I'd like to sponsor a child but had a previous experience where they continually sent mail asking for more money. I want to find an organization where as high a % of the money I send as possible goes directly to the child - not to mailings looking for $25 for an Easter basket and $50 for National Day celebrations and so on.

Would you help someone outside the United States who really needs to collect a great amount for some medical operation which would save his life? Or you help Americans only?

Although I help my husband manage a small business, balance a husband, family and homelife, volunteer countless hours and efforts to a worthy and honorable cause, navigate and lead several projects, all while trying to keep myself together, I have trouble knowing when to delegate or what to get help with. As a result, my life has a snowball effect. I can do many things well and I try to do everything. How do I prioritize and gain better balance. How do I find honest helpers and what part of my life should I delegate to them and which part should I never delegate? I don't know where to start? I already know that I need to decrease my load and I have begun to do that.

It takes at least a bottle of vodka a day to be an alcoholic. Which costs £8 minimum. So £56 per week.
Income support is around £35 per week. How can the tramps afford it. Not to mention food as well.

I don't have money myself, but often think I could do something, anything to help. As a family, we often give bags full of good stuff to charity shops who then sell them on at inflated prices and I never know what happens to anything. I'd rather give it directly or at least be able to contribute in some way. Selective links only please. This is a serious enquiry. Thanks

I am trying to plan a silent auction fundraiser... but my mom says that I'm not being realistic and that it takes like a mountain of people to pull that off. The fundraiser is for the Make-a-Wish Foundation

I'm not quite sure where to begin this, but for some time now I've wanted to go to a country to help out some children who are not so fortunate. Maybe adopt (but NOT literally adopt) a child and buy them presents every year, etc, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where to begin? I was thinking about WorldVision.org but I haven't heard such good things about them and I want the ability to visit the child I am donating to.
