Please tell me the MAIN reason(s) you chose to be a part of this church's denomination rather than others. We know there are big differences out there, but I wondered what specific things you look for..........

I ask simply to see what other Christians think. I am saved, and am convinced of one of these two belief's (which one, I will not say), but I want to hear the voice of American Christian's. So please, enlighten me.

I know a guy with a Ph.D in biochemistry who quit the Mormons right after he graduated from high school. I, in contrast, didn't leave the LDS church until my early-30's, although I was strongly doubting the church by my mid-20's.

I have to wonder: Did my brilliant friend leave the church earlier than me because his greater intelligence allowed him to see errors in the doctrine at a younger age?

When people reduce the world's problems/joys to the lack/abundance of religion/lack thereof?

Take the often made comments about Intelligence and Religion. Or the Causation of War/Conflict.

To claim one bit of phenomena as _the_ deciding factor in all aspects of life seems rather strange.

To clear up my language (hopefully) I sometimes feel that people ascribe too much to the question of religion (Whether it be positive or negative) to the detriment of considering factors such as Economics, Psychology, Politics, heck something as simple as Resource Scarcity.

Are we a biased sample precisely because we hang out on the R&S board, are intersted in the questions regarding religion thereby magnifying (exaggerating) its effects onto all social phenomena?

What do you all think?

what would you all do if you walked in and caught your so called best friend with your fiancee, who you are engaged too and plans are set for July 19, 2008. Kill them or set them on fire, I am serious. I have know this cow of whore for a lifetime. We grew up together, she was my maid of honor. They don't know I saw them. As part of her acceptance of being a girl, I wish my sissy maid to go door to door trick or treating in my culturely diverse neighborhood. "She's" a little reluctant about this but is willing to go along with it so I wish to dress "her" in something very girly and humiliating. Now before you feel too sorry for "her" my "Paige" is married and if "she" doesn't comply I threatened to tell "her" wife about my project.

Before you attack me and think I am against Christianity - back off. I am a born-again Christian who has been studying roman catholicism and its pagan roots along with pagan roots of holidays that most of us celebrate. Dan Barker or Richard Dawkins? Perhaps prominent is an ambigous term in this context. Who do like more. It seems like people are always talking about Dawkins but I find Barker`s arguements to be much more articulate and substantive.
