I say the Apostles' Creed at Matins (Morning Prayer) each day.

Re: above posts. Yes, the Apostles' Creed was not actually written during the lifetime of the Apostles. It's still a treasure of the Church.

The "holy catholic Church" refers not to the Roman Catholic Church, but the entire catholic (universal) church. Being a Baptist does not mean you do not believe you are a part of the universal church. Because of the confusion, some Protestant service books now (mis)translate it as "the holy Christian Church."

The Apostle's Creed. In pious lore, one or two verses from each Apostle on Pentecost Sunday. Placed by scholars as origination sometime in the fifth century, perhaps Rome. Used for children's liturgies and as part of the Baptism ritual. The creed does not specifically reject any heretical belief, but is clearly anti-pagan. The Nicene Creed, adopted by the Nicene Council, 325, completely rejected Arianism, by stating that God, the Son, was of the same substance as God, the Father. Jesus Christ is God. The Holy Spirit is recognized as God, but his nature is not elaborated on. Arius held that God the Son was a creature of God the Father. The Nicene council was called by the Eastern Bishops, Rome sent representatives. The Bishop of Rome, the Pope, was too elderly and too sick to travel to Nicea. The Nicene creed is recited at almost all Masses on Sundays and weekdays.

Yes, and it truly kind of sums up the doctrinal issues I believe. I also love the Nicene Creed. Too many churches who once used the creeds have stopped using them. I do not recite it........but it is in my heart for sure.

I know it but don't recite it regularly and if I did I would leave out the part of belief in the Holy Catholic church. No insult intended, truthfully. I am Baptist but wouldn't recite that I believe in the Holy Baptist Church either. The rest of it is right on though. I love the song by Petra. God bless!!

Yes I know this creed. It is good. Some denominations recite it differently, so I can a couple of different ways. It is a good statement of faith for Christians!

Yes. No, I do not recite rote prayers. The creed is not entirely accurate.

The Apostles didn't write it. It was penned hundreds of years after they were gone. The Creed is contradictory to what the Apostles believed and wrote. I wouldn't put much faith into it. Believe what the Bible says and you will be better off.

Yes I do know it. We use it several times a year in our church, but not at every service
It makes remembering key points of Christian doctrine easy

Not off the top of my head, but I said it enough that I could probably recall it after the first few words are droned.

I'm not being nasty here. I clearly remember that in the churches I went to, we droned a lot.
