Please tell me the MAIN reason(s) you chose to be a part of this church's denomination rather than others. We know there are big differences out there, but I wondered what specific things you look for..........

None. The church is the Body of Believers. And after years and years of study I've found they all use different versions and some have gauntlets to run to become a member. There are some small congregations that are solid because they have no board of directors or tithing or membership.People show up and hear God's Word from the pastor and financial support is voluntary.I hate to say this but most are simply Jr. Catholics. The Great Apostasy is clearly underway. Most are harlot daughters of Rome mentioned in Revelation. That's why you get very few Biblical answers without the injection of opinion.God needs no help from us to justify His Word or existence. All we need to do is share God's Word with all that have ears to hear.

I'm a Charismatic Christian. While I don't agree with all of the Charismatic teaching (specifically the popular end-time theologies promoted by the Tim LaHaye books), I have experienced the gifts of the Holy Spirit - tongues, healings, personal prophecy, dreams, etc. so when I hear people say they aren't for today or have passed away I know it's not true. Plus I'd like a fellowship that doesn't quench the Spirit.

I also look for one that I can get connected with in small groups. And ones that promote personal growth - emotional growth - like working on my "issues."

I look for solid, Biblical teaching from the pulpit. A loving and group of "safe" people who don't condemn people for not having enough faith. Ones that do not preach the false gospel - that man is basically good, evolution is fact, and homosexuality and abortion and Big government are o.k.

There is no perfect church but that's some of the things I keep in mind while looking. Good luck!

I was born and raised Roman Catholic, Converted to the Episcopal Church to get married to an Episcopalian woman. The Rector of the Church was utterly inspiring, under his guidence I became an Acolyte and am presnetly a Eucharistic Minister and Eucharistic Visitor. Age (50) and finances (4 year Theoloogy School) limit my potential to enter the Priesthood, but I do what I can.

I attend a United Methodist church, but I don't see why it matters. God just wants us to praise him and Christian is good enough for me. I think all the denominations are ridiculous. We all believe in one God who loves, cares, and forgives. What else REALLY matters?

I have been attending a Baptist Church where the full gospel is preached with no additional traditions added.

The issue concerning any church and its practices should be “Is this Biblical?” If a teaching is Biblical (taken in context), it should be embraced. If it is not, it should be rejected.
Oneis to use Scripture as the determining factor as to which church is preaching the truth and thus is true to the first church. It is especially important to compare Scripture with a church's teaching on such core issues as the full deity and humanity of Christ, the atonement for sin through His blood on Calvary, salvation from sin by grace through faith, and the infallibility of the Scriptures. The “first church” and “one true church” is recorded in the New Testament. That is the church that all churches are to follow, emulate, and model themselves after.

I BELONG TO A NONDENOMINATIONAL, INDEPENDENT, FREE CHURCH, THAT BELIEVES IN THE BIBLE AND THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST. I ASSOCIATE MYSELF WITH THIS BECAUSE IT IS THE CLOSEST TO THE WHOLE TRUTH THAT I HAVE FOUND! I was raised Lutheran and I had many Catholic Friends. I became an Atheist and then I got saved at a Baptist Church. I got filled with the Holy Ghost at the Vineyard Church, which is Pentecostal. I then got introduced to a Nondenominational Church.

I am Mennonite:
Unlike what people understand about Mennonites there is a wide variety of beliefs within a set guideline of common principles.
Mennonites are trying to live out their faith not spend their time doctrinalizing it.
Freedom of expression and believe are valued within this structure and an inquisitive mind is valued.

Assemblies of God
I feel their tenets of faith most closely parallel Scripture. But, there is only one God. JESUS is the way to Heaven, not any certain denomination. I believe people can be saved in any [or no] denomination. Denominations were made by man in an effort to please God. In MY life, the Assemblies of God was the way to JESUS - but it is certainly not the way to Heaven. I do believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are real and are meant for us to use today.

LDS (mormon)
It just makes more sense to me than other religions. For me it was stay mormon or just dont believe in a God because I cant swallow the concept that a loving God could condemn good people to hell or that God would just give people the Bible and say, well that is all you get.

The mormon church answers a lot of questions that other religions dont. The plan is far more extensive and logically just makes more sense, imo. The idea that knowledge and growth is what we strive for and that heaven isnt some place where we exist in a happy drugged up like state, but that we continually get to learn is just more appealing and makes more sense to me. The church believes that God does work thru scientific principles and that we should always be searching for all knowledge and truth. The church believes that all religions have truth in them but that theirs just has the fullness of truth. I also like the fact that the members fulfill all the callings in the church and that the church sticks to the same lesson plans no matter where or what ward you go to anywhere in the world.

Of course faith and testimony play into it, too, but if I was just going by how I would explain my justifications to someone that didnt really know or believe in the church, then its based on the fact that the doctrine of the mormon church just makes more sense to me then other christian doctrine and it is just a little less judgemental.

Pentecostal Holiness

Because it's the only place I've been where I have truly experienced God, although most Pentecostal churches today can't say the same thing. God has greatly blessed me with a church that believes the Bible and LIVES it. And therefore he is moving and working.
