i recently found the singer Tarkan who is from Turkey. i love the music, but am unfamiliar with the language. when i try to look it up, i find chains of unfamiliar terms. what i really want is to know what languages it has evolved from, what it is similar to, and some characteristics, like vowel sounds and such. any information would be much appreciated. as much as you know in as simple terms as possible please. even links are helpful. thanks so much.
ps. i speak english and know a bit of latin and french if that would help with associations. if you have a bunch of information, or would just prefer, you can message me. thanks

It was Halloween of 1990 and I was livin it up like the Devil himself. All of a sudden this demon appeared before me and said I needed to kill myself. I entertained his suggestions on just how I could do this when suddenly I heard a voice say "no". The voice shook me as it seemed it went right through me. As I came to my senses I realized there was some major spiritual stuff happening. Just then, I said "Jesus, if your real. help me." As soon as I said that the room lit up with the presense of God. It was powerful and beautiful. The evil presense immediatly departed and all I felt was Love going through me in what seemed to be waves. I did not want it ever to stop! At that moment I realized who Jesus was. I said " I will follow you for the rest of my life." That's when I became a Christian. It just keeps on gettin better too. Give Jesus a try and he will not disappoint.

Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." Incase you don't understand that means those that attend church and read the bible on there "personal" time you will be blessed. For those that don't will be chastised until they obey.

If time is based off of Jesus, why do the people who don't believe in Him still continue to do so? Wouldn't they come up with their own calendar? Would this really be the year 2007 to an atheist? Who decided to base time in that way anyway if Jesus was just a regular dude?

I just get really confused when Catholics say that they worship and believe everything about Jesus yet you have saints and more than one "virgin" that u worship or give tributes to. God is a jealous God and when u give worship to something else isn't that taking glory from Him?? And also just becuz some people were good and God used them that doesn't mean u should give them any tributes after all they were just people not God's son.

So, as a Buddhist you are told to harm sentient beings. Of course, I try very hard to make sure that if there's a spider in the bathtub I put it on a piece of paper and take it outside (I can hear the snickering starting) BUT this dude I know has decided that he can't live in his house because it's been taken over by bees and he can't kill them so he's crashing at someone else's house until they either die or go away............(I know there's laughing going on) Am I supposed to go to that kind of extreme as a Buddhist? Letting them die seems the same as extermination.......am I required to give up my house if this happens to me?????? HMMMMMM......thoughts? (I'm still laughing on the outside and crying on the inside) Namaste!

I want to be buried at Oakwood Cemetery in NC. My husband proposed to me there and we also would go for long walks there all the time. Its a lovely place and I want to be apart of its history.

Did you know that the some of the United States still have laws against blasphemy?

For example chapter 272 of the Massachusettes general law...

Section 36. Whoever willfully blasphemes the holy name of God by denying, cursing or contumeliously reproaching God, His creation, government or final judging of the world, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching or exposing to contempt and ridicule, the holy word of God contained in the holy scriptures shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and may also be bound to good behavior.

do you pick the verses that fit with your desires and throw the rest behind your back like it never there? you pick the verse that says "me and God is one" which litteraly does not mean Jesus is God, but it can be explained as Jesus can't do or say anything except with God permission.

do you worship Jesus or only the God who sent him, did Moses worship the trinity or only the God who sent him?

When I first became a Muslim people told me that what is Sunnah are the things the prophet did that are good and that we should try to follow but that they are NOT obligatory. Is this true?

If it is true why all the problems on here (and off here) about if you should or shouldn't do this or that? Aren't we fighting in vain? It's one thing to discuss it but it is another to get nasty the way many of us have on here.

Can anyone tell me how to live a Christian life? I tried reading thae Bible and similiar books, but I'm having difficulty understanding them. My husband and I joined a Baptist church last year, and we were greeted with open arms. Whenever donations of any kind were collected, we eagerly donated. My husband told a member of the church that we wanted to donate $ to help build a kitchen in the banquet area. A few days later the Pastor made a comment that we can't buy our way into Heaven. Believe me, that was not our intentions! We do know that we can't buy our way into Heaven. We have asked 3 times to be Baptisted, only to be given an excuse. Our son recently got into some trouble with the law, and since I had no one to talk to, I phoned my Pastor to ask if I could talk with him. He was out of town, so I left a message. (He was back in town 2 days later.) He never returned my call. From then on, it seemed like we were being shuned from the other members. We finally stopped attending.

I’ve been hear reading people’s posts and then I read that evolution is a fact now. Wow, that blew my mind. Who did this? Which school or scientist created life in a lab? How can everyone be so up in arms on legalizing marijuana when legal prescription drugs have been shown to kill when they are supposed to help.

They just found out two diabetes medications greatly increases heart failure risks, even in low dosages. We all remember Vioxx....

WTF! Why is everyone coming down on marijuana when these drugs have proven much more dangerous, yet their legal. And with regard to the new story about psychosis among pot smokers, if you read the entire article, they eventually admit they cannot prove that pot use alone was the cause.

"The researchers said they couldn't prove that marijuana use itself increases the risk of psychosis..There could be something else about marijuana users, like their tendency to use other drugs or certain personality traits, that could be causing the psychoses," Zammit said.
