Using the word "Christian" a little loosely, aren't we?

No True Christian has ever "boiled" any one in oil... those were of the Roman Catholic and not in any way following the Teaching of Jesus The Christ. The Inquisition was IN NO WAY an action based on any teaching of The True Christian Faith.

Don't you know that heretics are better crispy?? How else were we supposed to get them that way?

Seriously absolutely not..and I the Inquisition, was run by the Catholic Church and the Leaders of the Spanish Kingdom. They actually killed many Protestants. The link above is a pretty good detailing of what went on. It was started by a king, who then got the Roman Catholic Churches 'blessing'....

It was not only "right": ( ha ha) it was a church requirement at the time, just like burning witches was in various eras. Not much different than promoting Catholicism to be the ONLY way to salvation, as the current Pope has done. Of course these days heretics are permitted to simmer before they boil over.

No it wasn't right for "Christians" to boil heratics in oil during the middle ages. Neither would it be right for a jewish, muslim, white, black, male, female, tall person, skinny person, or any person/people to boil anyone. Wrong is wrong, No matter who does it.

"Using the word "Christian" a little loosely, aren't we?" --C.L. Richardson........I concur.

Was it right for the Roman Catholic Church to boil Christians who didn't agree with them in oil?
No.

The Christians would claim that it was right because they were doing it for religious reasons. Obviously, that would be inexcusable to the moral standards of today, but Christianity doesn't care; unfortunately, with all of their power, whatever they say goes. It's sad.

Nope...but it was how the Church enforced orthodoxy. That's why there really isn't any of the old religions left, most of the Gnostics were exterminated, and even Christians who denied the ultimate authority of Rome, were all eliminated.

Obviously, not. Plenty of people call themselves "Christians" and try to justify their actions as biblical. They like the I'm forgiven or I'm holier than thou types of attitude. Truth is no one should do these types of things to anyone else. Then again, it's everywhere.

I am going to say no. I am a Christian, but that is the equivalent of Muslim terrorism. Some people take religion and swarm it with the darkness of humanity.

you know its wrong to burn anyone in oil. you can associate many bad things with every religion but i ask you to do something meaningful with your time like make friends rather than enemies. recognize and put aside your prejudice. you should show respect. can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone was the same? it would be very dull. be glad people are different and accept it. it is good to have friends of every race and religion.
