I don't understand why Atheists are on here! Religious people are on here collecting brownie/ loyalty points propogating. If they convert someone extra points.

What is your purpose here? There's no reward for you. Are our lives really that sad that SOME of us have to spend hours on here trying to convince others they are wrong?

I think I'm a good person. I just took a test on them, maybe scored 50% or so I think. I think I would need a Christian person to translate them so I would know what they even meant.

Wouldn't suggestions be better for this century?

I really can see why murder is bad and you shouldn't steal and you should be nice to your parents.

Some of them are really outdated though, maybe the church should consider rewriting them for todays world maybe.

Okay, help me. This is for real, not a friend of a friend of a friend. She really stands outside with her dog and tries to provoke me. We built our dream home in the country and she walks down where we get the mail. And I wind up upset and feeling stupid. Okay she's around 50 or 60 and she openly admits she had 3 abortions throughout her 20's. It gets trickier here and I fail. She says an aborted fetus is "shot-gunned" into Heaven(?) So she wants to know why she can't be forgiven for that as though she did what was best (and expedient) for the "fetus"? I realize she wants God to forgive her or she wouldn't provoke me. But I need some effective answers that don't take all day because it's cold outside and she won't come over. Seriously. This deal is AFTER her having 3 abortions and if I get sassy with her she will consider that God's failure not mine! I am put on the spot to help her and I will. I'm not worried about my soul or spirit though so that helps. Help Me? What do I say?

A new doll test was conducted in which black children were given a black doll and a white doll to play with. 15 out of 20 of the kids preferred to play with the white doll. ( http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6181729 ). The result is very similar to the previous tests that were conducted during segregation. I've also heard that previously the test was conducted in many parts of the world, and most children preferred to play with the white doll. Is this a negative sign? Is this the result of a biased media, if not what is it?

My local mailman is a real jerk. He maced my dog through a screen door. Like my dog could have really bit him through a door. So to get revenge on this gutless/ coward mailman, I went to the public mailbox (the standard blue ones) he picks up at and scooped 1/2 gallon of chocolate fudge ice cream in it. I then waited from afar to see the look of disgust on his face as he tried to make sense of the ruined ice cream soaked mail. Now hopefully when he brings this back to the post office he will be fired for getting his ice cream on the mail. Don't you agree this is great karma for an animal abuser?

I know that the R&S section of Yahoo Answers is but a small representation of the world at large but I did discover one thing...

There are extremist pagans.
There are extremist atheists.
There are extremist christians.
There are extremist muslims.
There are extremist

All of these insults, taunts, and baseless character assinations from all camps.

R&S is a circus and yet a lot are proud of that.

If a christian asked a christian question and wanted an answer from christians, then why do the atheists/pagans/whoever chime in and call them idiots for believing in God and Jesus?

Why do christians chime in on pagan questions saying what they believe is trash and this is the real answer. Obviously they don't believe you so why try it? If you know nothing about casting spells then don't answer with something completely off topic.

My favorites are those preach at you and yet have nothing in their response other than insults.

My mother-in-law passed away about four years ago. Like anyone else, my sister-in-law has a picture of her on the shelf. She and her husband occasionally will show the pic to their 2yr old daughter and say "Sydney, this is grandma Sybil". They do this so she'll know who she is since she died before Sydney was born. They'll also ask "Syndey, where's Grandma Sybil?", and she points to the front door or the stairs, not to the picture. Do you think she's seeing something we're not?

I mean to say friends always stand by u when u r in crisis guide u support u counsel u but when u start expecting more from them(as a natural process) they either stop or become reluctant to continue the same way .Is expecting same consistency wrong? I have lots of paintings in my house, and I love going to musicals and plays. I myself am a theatre actress. I notice that many members of my family who are Protestant Christian are offended by my art collection and they always think the shows I do are offensive and they tell me not to do them anymore.

The last straw was when I took my best friend to see WICKED for her birthday. WICKED is a musical about the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West. It's fictional. They are highly against such kinds of performance.

I've noticed many forms of art are offensive to those with a conservative mind. But I never understood why. Where in the bible does it say that these things are evil? Do they not know that it's just art?

Father kills daughter; doubted virginity

A Jordanian man fatally shot his 17-year-old daughter whom he suspected of having sex despite a medical exam that proved her chastity, an official said Thursday. The man surrendered to police hours after the killing, saying he had done it for family honor.

A state forensic pathologist, who works at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Amman where an autopsy was performed, said in a phone interview that the girl had run away from home several times for unknown reasons.

Weeks ago, the girl had returned home from a family protection clinic after doctors had vouched for her virginity and the father had signed a pledge not to harm her, the pathologist said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the case.
