Math seems to connect all areas of human inquiry. Is language a mathematical translation in the way music is? Is math a language based construction? Can we communicate verbally using only math?

If God made all the bad things in this world, he must be emo.

If God is emo, he has low self-esteem and doesn't believe in himself.

So God is atheist, because he doesn't believe in God (himself).

Savvy?

Referring to the following predictions:
The sun and moon will darken, the stars will fall from the sky, the powers of the heavens will be shaken, the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, the tribes of the earth will mourn, they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven, and he will send his angels to gather his elect from the four winds.

Why did he say, referring to the above predictions, "this generation will not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."? (See Matthew 24:29-34, also Mark 9:1 and Matthew 23:36)

Hundreds of generations have come and gone; the predictions remain unfulfilled.

If someone asked you 'what do you want?' and you did not want anything. You did not want to live longer, have more friends, find true love, etc. what does that mean?

Throughout the millenia? IF Jesus is so damn real, why did it take so long for you Christians to stop slaughtering and torturing people for the dumbest of offenses?
Why couldn't Jesus' words of peace and love save hundreds of thousands of people from the brutality of his so called "followers"?

I am brazilian and I like practicing my english here.
But, I have been realising that my questions are not welcomed.
I know the cultural differences between the english and latin people, but I really do not understand why I always get ironic answers, and swear at me.
Is it so difficult just to answer, without feel that I am atacking you?
When I went to england/london last year, I saw the kind and polite people. It was very nice. But when I ask some more personal things, I get only agressive answers, as I was saying absurd things (see my question about drink - Should I specify amount?)
What is the bether way to talk with the english? Never talking about personal things? Taking care with words that seems to generalize people?
Maybe you do not realize this because you are inside your culture. But for me, a person from other country... it is not pleasant.
What I feel is that the polite and the ironic and agression are very close.... Strange.
Maybe I should never appear here again

me and my husband had a huge argument last night because his so called best friend is trying to hook him up with the daughter of a friend, and his best friend gave this woman my husband's cell number. Well one thing led to another and I threw a hanger at him that scratched him on the eye area and there was some blood. He got phyisical with me then packed up all his belongings and left. I think it has gotten way out of hand now. We have only been married for a month and we have all this negativity from outside sources because they see me as a threat to his relationship with them. We are both studying Jehovah Witness' and I feel horrible. If he knows the truth will he divorce me because of what went down. He doesn't want to give up his friends whom he says doesn't like me but yet in still he still hangs out with them. Did I mess up big time and lose my husband for good?

I read a newspaper article today about a man in tears because he was so happy that Saddam Hussein had been hanged. "I've been praying for this all my life." He said.

He PRAYED for someone to die. What the hell? He cried tears of joy when it happened. What is wrong with this man? What is wrong with the people of the Middle East? Why are so many of them so obsessed with bringing MORE death into the world.

Pray for justice, sure. Pray for peace. Pray for an end to the sectarian violence that has ripped the cradle of civilization and faith apart since World War One. But don't pray for people to be killed. Isn't the real message of the Quaran one of peace and tolerance?

How do we get that message back?

White people, I believe, are natures mistake. They have genetically recessive genes because nature intended them to die out by race mixing. They also cannot survive in the sun so their skin tone is a major genetic flaw. You hear every day of whites dying in numbers and becoming minorities in city after city in America, and even Europe, where they came from. Soon they will no longer exist and the future brown kids will look at pictures of them in history books in disgust that some unevolved humans used to be pasty and ugly

I`m in my hometown in CT. I go to college in RI. I can`t stop thinking about one of my friends and i`ve liked her for a while...

We hooked up before, then ignored each other for a while, and started hanging out again in November... I get the feeling that she likes me back, but I have doubts... She flirts with me sometimes, or is that mistaken for friendliness? Do I tell her? Do I risk losing a friendship?
