feel the heart of todays problems is self centeredness. Its the answer to every question in here of "why do they act like this" or "why do those people do that". One answer: self centeredness.

Example. Some Athiests are so self centered he cant see that he practices what he is protesting....pushing an agenda. They only see it from their shoes.

OR

Christian is so self centered that they cant recoknize a non believer does not accept Bible quotes as reasonable answers. They only see it from their shoes, where the Bible is true and perfect.

Any thoughts at all???? Open to all faiths and non faiths.

BTW I am no exception, I look back at my most serious wrongs and they are self centered actions.

Thanks to all who respond in a respectful manne

PREGNANT TURKEY STORY: One year at Thanksgiving, my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store. When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird. With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed: "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!!!!!!!! HA HA!

Seriously, people? You DO realize that the 'terrible, terrible' muslims you see on the news are just the radicalists that every religion has.. right? In fact, the majority of 'nice' posts on these boards seem to be from Muslims.

I had to ask after seeing a poster saying he wanted to kill all muslims. =/

My girlfriend currently owns the home that we live in. Since I pay bills equally, what would happen to the house if anything ever happened to her? Would I have to move into a new place or would I be able to have the house signed over to me?

The definition of "Christianity" is listed as:
Christianity: [...] the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior.

Due to the varying practises of the many christian groupings, it is impossible to determine any "true teaching" of Jesus in the new testament, aside from the universally agreed concepts. Primarily, the death on the cross and the forgiveness of sin.

However, there is no need for a saviour if there is nothing to be saved from. I speak of hell. From this we can conclude that the basic principle of Christianity is salvation from a horrible punishment in exchange for accepting Christ.

My question is, how does this square with the common definition of terrorism:
The calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature. [...]

Are Christians who refuse to live and let live in regards to belief, any different from terrorists?

The choice is, take the blue pill, and continue to happily believe whatever you believe... Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Atheism, Agnosticism, whatever it may be, for the rest of your life.

OR.........

Take the red pill and finally KNOW WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY the truth. This thruth could be that god doesn't exist, or that god does exist, or the god you've believed in isn't the real god, but whatever the truth is, you'd know it for certain.

Think about this carefully. If you're an atheist, you'd now KNOW that god exists, and have to deal with this. If you're a Christian, you'd now KNOW there is no god, and also have to deal. It would be an earth-shaking change.

Or would you just prefer to not know?

As an atheist leaning towards theism, I will tell you my theory on how we came to be. Please don’t ridicule my way of thinking. You are welcome to state your own theories and I will read them (if it’s not an essay)

I DON’T believe there are personal “god(s)” of religion or an afterlife. I believe the universe is our “creator/god” and we’re nothing more but stardust (carbon base life-forms) made from a Supernova or Nebulas (stars are born in nebulas).

I Believe in evolution and the big bang theory because they have pretty much been proven even though some insist it’s not true. To think even farther than that I believe we are merely atoms (if you look at the solar system, galaxy and the whole universe it looks a lot like atoms) of something bigger.

I don’t think this”god(s)” knows we even exist because of the vastness of the universe and we are insignificant.

I believe we are a fluke in the universe.

Tell me the points in which you agree and the points you disagree.
