I personally think its one of those million dollar idea's. I know it would be awsome to have my ashes turned into a self portrait instead of just sitting in a jar. Maybe even a painting of my favorite place or activity. I'm sure some people would find this appauling, but its a good idea with potential. Have you thought about offering it for pets? I'm sure pet lovers would be more open minded to an idea like this. It's also something that would be easier to establish on line. Them sending you their pets ashes and you sending them the finished portrait.
I'd say go for it, with good marketing techniques and a high quality product i think it could catch on.

How would you go about turning the ashes into paint? Because they probably would be problematic if you just tried to paint over them on the canvas.
I suppose you would have to do a good job of advertising, but it sounds like a very good and very profitable idea. Figure it out completely, test your ability to turn ash into a paste or paint with some other ashes, then make yourself a good website (or get a friend to do it) and advertise or get an article written about you online or in a prestigious newspaper.

I thought servis made washing machines. In the 35 years painting, you should have taken time to learn how to put the English language to better use than you have in this poser.

Sound's like a good idea..some people wear a special necklace with some of their loved ones ashes in it..A painting is better then the ashes just sitting there in an urn.
Good luck with your idea and don't listen to haters.

Take one used tampon ... frame it in one of those display units ... and you got art to. And you'll have less arguments with the family!
