I live in Europe (Germany) and it is totally acceptable for "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" to live together here. Almost no one is having babies..... and when a girl gets pregnant here, she is often angry that it happened: So, either an abortion takes place or a sorrowful wedding. What has happened to "civilized societies" where marriage seems to be considered a cursed thing.

I was wondering what the opinion was of Christians and indeed anybody else who believes in the human soul thinks of the implications of human cloning? Not just whether a clone would have a soul, but whether you believe a human clone should have the same basic rights as born human?

changed by man by being written and rewritten and improperly translated? How can you exercise any faith in God who created an entire universe and everything in it but can't see to it that His word would reach us as He wants it to? The Bible says He would write His Laws upon our hearts and in another place He would put it into theirs hearts to carry out His thoughts and do His will, but you believe He can make men write down His thoughts for us, why?

When I was growing up there was a bit of Christmas shopping that was done, but nothing compared to what I've seen in recent years. Kids used to get inexpensive, but really nice gifts like board games, lincoln logs, paint-by-number kits, etc. But now people are spending thousands and thousands of dollars on shopping for Christmas gifts and the decorations are getting to be more over-the-top each year. Why and when did this shift towards holiday consumerism occur, and will it ever return to more simpler times?

Please answer this question in seriousness, it has also been suggested that the Christian Paul had seizures, what can anyone tell me about either of these religious figures and epilepsy, two previous questions on this subject were removed which seems uncalled for.

Some days I feel like I'm the only person on this site who is a) not a Christian AND b) doesn't really have a problem with Christians. Sure, there are annoying ones, but I don't think that has to do with their religion. There are annoying everything else's too.

Anyone else? For that matter, is there anyone else whose personal beliefs actually go directly against Christianity (atheists, Wiccans, etc.) but still don't have a problem with them?

I've asked Christian friends of mine why God created for example - rabbits and I get answers like 'Because they're cute' or equally inadequate and unfulfilling answers. Why do you Christians believe God created a world with millions of species, many of them impractical to humans? Do you believe that only humans have souls? The whole world is just for us and animals disappear when they die?
Also, why do you think God created so many barren planets and stars?

I beleive in God, and I think I am the holy Ghost...does that make me crazy?

Furthermore, there are so many viewpoints...some which defy logic completely...most are logical but with different view points...

but some people actually defy logic...

Does this realization, make you scared? especially since bush, hamas, the president of Iran, and the president of Israel...are all fanatics?

are we run by a world of fanatics, and is this not scary? should we not disown certainty, and go back to the basics of discussion of philosophies such as the greeks, sponcering a healthy dose of doubt...which I sincerely beleive to be the true way to beleive in God...because he is inherently unknowable--

should we start a new line of philosophical and creative inquiry? maybe even make schools out of it...and set up a new church or philosophy...

after all, the world has changed HECK OF A LOT...usually a little change, makes a whole new chruch, such as the protestants...is it time
