changed by man by being written and rewritten and improperly translated? How can you exercise any faith in God who created an entire universe and everything in it but can't see to it that His word would reach us as He wants it to? The Bible says He would write His Laws upon our hearts and in another place He would put it into theirs hearts to carry out His thoughts and do His will, but you believe He can make men write down His thoughts for us, why?

Don H in the Hebrew Scriptures where it says an eye for an eye was during the times the Israelites were under Theocratic Rule, or directly being ruled by God, he gave them His Laws through the Levites. After the conquest of Israel by the Babylonians God let off ruling over the Israelites and allowed the nations to rule for a period of seven times, but at the appointed time He sent His Son to teach us how to extend love to one another and to have a deep love for God. When God's time comes He will remove all the wicked in showing His love for His people, He removes the wicked who will not change out of love because He cannot allow them to remain to cause disturbance for His people.

The Bible was written by man but divinely inspired. It's that simple. It's not to take away from one's faith or believe that God is not the creator, but it explains the discrepancies. There are sections that differ, that counteract each other, etc. It doesn't make the Bible unimportant though. Being divinely inspired is not insignificant. I think people need to relax on this issue. If your faith can't take a bit of a debate, then you need to get a grip. His word did reach us as he wants it to, through the human hands he inspired to write it. If you do any theological reading, you will see that theologians aren't discounting God, quite the contrary.

Friend, I am a Christian, I too have had people said that, Yes God has written his laws & Commandments in our hearts, & if there was no such thing as a Bible, God will still be able to get his Chosen Bride Meat in DUE season. You have a very good question here for those who wants to try & do away with the Bible, there is only one spirit that will try that, & that is satan.

I cannot answer because I believe wholefully in the Bible.
However, we still need to know what the law written on the hearts of true believer is, and to know what Christ's Law is, we have to study the Bible.

It's called relativism or a relative truth. The truth is an absolute like love, but how we chose to manifest it is entirely up to us. The whole idea of salvation is predicated on free agency.
research the debates among Christians in Acts.
or through out the centuries.

All I can tell you is Hebrews chapter 11. I believe the Bible to be the True Word of God and Hebrews chapter 11 sums it up nicely for me.

Can you explain why God chose to tell us in the bible that we should love our neighbor, love even our enemies and turn the other cheek, then turn around and say an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. If you see no conflict here please explain.

Love and blessings Don

I wonder if you've noticed the Bible is a compilation of "Testaments", Sir?

Accounts of people who claimed they'd seen something or experienced something.

It's left to you to draw what you wish from it, not to be dictated to.

The Koran, on the other hand was dictated. Please observe the difference there.

Have a nice day.
