agnostic means you're not sure if there is a god or not . . .
atheist is when you believe there is no god

An Agnostic is someone who says, "well, there might be a God but I don't know that for sure". And there are some Agnostics who believe this: "Well, there might be a God but I don't know that for sure and noone else can know it for sure, either".

It means that you feel that as a human you do not have the capacity (intellectual or otherwise) to decide whether god exists or does not. You doubt either one as an absolute because ontological reasoning is beyond your ability or control.
