Because men wrote the bible...and during that time women were not considered on the same level as men...also do you notice that almost all the women in the bible are bad and do something wrong...? Ex. Eve, Sampson's wife, Pharaohs wife calls for the head of John the baptist, Mary Magdeline is a Prostitute. Lots wife gets turned to Salt...Think about how many negative female stories there are as opposed to good?

God only appears as masculine in the Bible (Genesis 18:1-2, Ezekiel 1:26, Matthew 1:23, Revelation 1:13) and only speaks of Himself as masculine.

His masculinity is also reflected in other scripture. All but two angels (Zechariah 5:9) are referred to as masculine in the bible. He appointed men to serve Him as prophets and judges except Deborah (Judges 4:4), kings, and as apostles.

You could. But then some man would be asking why is God always a "She" or a "Her."

I always refer to God, as God, as the gender is not an issue, and does not apply

Good question,

Well, God is neither male nor female, simply because he is spirit, and spirits do not have genders.
As for the termings of "He, Him, Father" ie masculine nature in termanolgy, that is because how He has reveled Himself to us...He asked us to address Him as heavenly Father, He even reveled His Only begotten Son to us in the form of a male in the Lord Jesus Christ...

That is all there is to it...I hope this Helps...God Bless :-)

It's actually a figure of speech. In Proper English if you don't know the gender of someone you call them a he, do to the patriarchal nature of the language.

However, reliable translations, that follow the termanology of the original languages, rather then ignore them, of the Bible refer to the Holy Spirit as a She and the co-creator.

Because then it won't be too long before the guys start asking "Why is God always a 'she' or a 'her'?"

God isn't male or female -- those are human qualities. Your question has to do with the grammatical limits of human language -- not God's gender, because He doesn't have one.

Because "he" and "him" can be neutral in matters of gender in most languages, including Greek which the New Testament was written in. "Her" establishes a gender, but "he" does not necessarily. We don't call God "it" because "it" implies the subject is a mere object. Plus most goddesses are not referred to as "Our Father". But God is a spirit, and is not any certain gender. Still, "he" or "him" is neutral in linguistics, as strange as it may seem.
