Isnt the "Who Created God" question, and the "If Evolution is true, why do we still have monekys" question, both over used and redundant? How sick are you of seeing those two questions??

Ok so this bloke called god created the world in 6 days 6,002 years ago and so he has ultimate power to do anything and he used this power to write a book called the bible or the koran or whatever which tells everyone what he wants which includes support for mass genocide, the stoning of children, the murder of anyone who doesn't believe in him so that they can die sooner as when they die they will be cast into a fiery pit of eternal torment for all eternity but that's ok because he still loves you. In what way is any of that meant to make sense?

I'm looking for an advent calendar for someone who can't eat chocolate. I've seen the ones where you fill them yourself but it really needs to go in the mail, so any other solutions would be much appreciated!

s it okay for Jews to say "Jesus Christ!!" when they are surprised?

1 Sam 15:22
2 But Samuel replied: "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

So many times I think many Christians are striving for a "close relationship" with God. That definitely is where we should be but we forget that without a heart of submission and obedience to His will we cannot be as close to Him as we want and should be. It's easy to do God's will when it makes sense to us. But it's much harder when we don't see it His way.

Anyone have another view on this scripture?

since the Bible was written by men it can't be true? First, for the record, it was dictated by God by means of Holy Spirit and penned by men over a period of time. But, let's say that you don't believe that the Bible is inspired of God. Just because a book is written by a man, or men, does it mean it is untrustworthy or unreliable? Then why read any book at all? How do you think the majority of people learn on this planet? Aren't we all educated, in part, through the use of various books, all of which have been written by some man/woman?

my roommate is a muslim and he has told me some things that i am still confused about.
He stated that the teachings of Jesus in the NT are not his teachings, and that Jesus actually taught muslim ideals (Jesus basically taught the same stuff as Muhammad).

However, Jesus's death resulted in Christianity (as well as some mixes of Judaism and Christianity) but not Islam.

What is the Muslim logic for this explanation. Also, how do you explain the early Christian apologists such as Justin Martyr from the early second century who advocated similiar theology to the Christian theology today and not a mix of Muslim/Christian theology?

I don’t believe in communism so you wouldn’t find me hanging around there, so why do they feel the need or desire for that matter to hang out in the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo answers.

We have a number of similarities with "monkeys" However, the diferrences that we do have are "distinctly different." In fact, the differences we have have been proven not to have evovled from the " monkey" . So the question is how can one species evovle from another species and possess genetically different elements that did not come from the original species? Yes there is evidence that evolution happens with in species... however we have no fossils records that record it ever happening. The burden of proof is not on Christianity but evolutionist. All i am asking is that evolutionist prove there "theory". the truth is that Darwinist has covered up mounting flaws in there "theory" And for those who jumed all over Behe when you did your research.. uhm uhm i mean internet search, why did you skip over the sites that talked about how he went toe to toe with almost every one that tried to disprove him and they couldnt. All i want is for a supporter of evolution to prove it happen.

We always hold Thanksgiving at our house. We even send out invitations a month ahead so everyone can make arrangements. Unexpectedly, my husband has fallen ill and has been to the ER five times in the past week. He is okay now, but he is slowly recovering and will still be recovering on Thanksgiving. We cannot move the dinner to someone else's house--that is not an option. We also cannot go anywhere else as he isn't well enough to want to go anywhere but home.

He can still eat and socialize, but he will be tired after about 4 hours (went to work today for the first time since falling ill and had to go home at lunch). What is a polite way, considering the circumstances, to tell our family members that they are welcome for dinner and a few hours after, but not all night (last year some stayed until 3 a.m.). Please note that I'd never kick guests out any other time...but this is an unusual circumstance.

I don't have patience with my mom. She doesn't function like normal people do. Every other time I try to help her with a task I lose my cool and say things I'm thinking, but shouldn't say. I feel scarred because of things from the past that still haunt me, of which she still hasn't changed. I can't cope with it, and she resents the fact that I'm not more loving. She throws everything she's done for me in my face, like I owe her my life because I can't get the strength to do small things for her. Small things, meaning, packing up her whole house to move, while my brother does nothing. She say she's not strong enough or able enough to pack up the house whatsoever, and she expects me to do the whole thing, giving me guilt trips because she bought me a brand new car last year. It's hard! I say I shouldn't about certain things about her life that need to change, thinking I'm trying to help her, but she always thinks I'm just ashamed of her or I don't love her or appreciate her. I don't know what to do. I don't even know what point I'm trying to make, or if I'm even making sense. I feel like maybe I don't forgive her for things that happened during my teens that she could have prevented, or maybe it's because she still does the same things, and refuses to change. It makes me angry that she won't try. I don't know. She says I don't love her when I say she needs to change certain things or when I don't feel like all responsibility for her tasks should be on me, because she doesn't have other people to help her. I told her I couldn't help her move all by myself, because I'm only one girl, and she just comlpains b/c I could have started helping her months ago, every month. I don't know what to do. I don't want to keep this car if she's gonna throw it in my face for the rest of my life when I feel overwhelmed with tasks she gives me to do. I don't live with her anymore. I pay my own rent. I didn't ask for the car. She just gave it to me because she said she loved me.

Since average height has increased dramatically over the last couple of hundreds of years, will it continue to rise?
I know that at a certain height it becomes disadvantageous to be so tall because your organs can't cope, will evolution take use to just below this point? WIll women always be shorter than men on average? Will Asian average height eventually rival that of Europe?
I know no one knows for sure but some informed opinions would be great.
