I'm looking for an advent calendar for someone who can't eat chocolate. I've seen the ones where you fill them yourself but it really needs to go in the mail, so any other solutions would be much appreciated!

You're lucky if you live in the Europe. We're in Canada, and I can't find anything on line for us. I found a website...Richard Sellmer Verlag - The Advent Calendar Company. Has a lot of choices without chocolate. (I found more variety under the UK part of the site, not the USA part). They are about 2+ Pounds each. UNICEF also has one advent calendar without choc. ($9.00 can.) Good luck!

Check out oriental trading company (online). They have a very cute nativity advent calendar with characters from the Nativity for each day between Dec. 1 and Christmas.

We always buy advent calendars that aren't chocolate based. I have seen two good ones in John Lewis that have Christmas pictures behind each window. £5 each but worth it I think.

Hey how about an advent calender where behind each window you have a wee message. These can help people feel really good about themselves and its personal with maybe on the final day having a wee token eg a key ring or the like behind the final window. Hope this helps?

I have seen advent calenders, where instead of having a chocolate for each `date door` you open, there is a religious text, or a joke, or just a quotation of some kind. You can buy them in a well known high street bookshop/stationers.

You could make one yourself? I teach a sunday school and every year we get the kids to make their own advent calenders with just two sheets of card and loads of coloured pens and pencils and it's great fun, plus it'll show that you care.
