Speak to a rabbi. (There's a tradition of turning someone away three times, btw.) You'll need a rabbi for the ceremony anyway, so start there.

There are actually lots of ways of being Jewish, so visit synagogues from the different movements of Judaism (Conservative, Orthodox, Reform and Reconstructionist).

Jewish culture values study highly, so get started on your reading. Abraham Joshua Heschel is a good one, but explore. There's a compliation on reading the sacred texts -- I'll edit as soon as I remember the name.

This person will probably need to prove his or her commitment to Judaism, although some rabbis are more lenient. My rabbi asked for study of texts, culture, and a bit of Hebrew, attendance at services for a year or so, and evidence of having thought it over carefully and made a well-considered decision.

Talk to a rabbi. He won't encourage you, but he will give you things to read. You cannot have a sudden "feeling" about Judaism. It will take at least a year of serious study before you're ready. Or you might decide it's not for you. Jews believe that all the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come. You don't have to be a Jew.

If you decide not to convert, you will have lost nothing because the study and learning is so exciting! Judaism has so many different directions you can take -- there's something for everyone. Once you start learning you'll be hooked for good!

talk to a Rabbi. The second step would be to take a convertion class. Our local College of Jewish Studies offers the conversion class. Often, the class is an engaged couple where one person is Jewish, the other is converting. For engaged couples, the class is attended by both people...not just the convert.

In addition to the class there are other things that you need to do to officially convert....including having a Jewish sponsor, and going to the Mikvah. It's a beautiful service (I did in several years ago.....for myself....not for marriage purposes)

Good luck!

Epstein choosing a Jewish existence: A handbook for persons changing to Judaism and for his or her acquaintances and kin by utilising Anita Diamant mandatory Judaism: an entire handbook to ideals, Customs & Rituals by utilising George Robinson After doing that, please discover a synagogue close by and speak to them and ask for an "interview" with the Rabbi. each and every so often, the Rabbi will turn you away asserting pass residing house and picture approximately this and verify that's what you prefer to do. this is the main difficulty approximately conversion - relatively being specific which you relatively prefer to be a Jew. as quickly as a individual is a convert, they're as Jewish as everyone born that way.

Read up on the subject then try to find a willing follower of judaism who will talk to you and tell you what the books cannot.

step back and don't do it.... The Nation of Israel(The Jews), not the political state of Israel, are God's chosen people. but the practice of Judasim is no longer The Way God proscribes for mankind to come to Him... Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.
