I suppose it's just wishful thinking that perhaps we wont have to see another Hitler in the future. But WW2 does seem to be a turning point in other ways. I think the Dead Sea scrolls were found in 47 or 48, and Israel was re-estblished as a nation at the same time. And their survival seems to be a little miraculous.

I have a morbid memory (from about 12 years ago) and I don't know if Its a false memory or what. After my grandfather passed away I was in shock and despair. I remember being at my grandmothers house and picking up and bible. I remember thinking to myself (and talking to the lord in my mind) that if I flip through the bible and let my finger land on some verse (any verse) that god might offer me some comfort through that verse. So I flipped the pages and let my finger land on one verse. When I read it, it said something like "go on with thy life and not worry of your deceased relative for they are in hell now and forgotten in the eyes of the lord". This has really bothered me all these years but now as I think back I'm not sure if thats exactly what it said or if my mind was so freaked out and sad at the time that I had produced a false memory. Can anyone help me with this. Is this verse (or something similar to it) in the bible?

It's not whether the Bible is true or not that's important, it's HOW it's true. It's true METAPHORICALLY, but true nonetheless. It's an understanding of truth that is simply difficult for the scientifically-informed Western mind to grasp. Though the Bible is true, it's not true, literally. For example, The stories couch the substance of the literature. It's the themes that are important. For example, between the virgin birth story and the torrid tale of crucifixion, a person is represented who had a revolutionary message about the Reign of God...no more oppression; no injustice; no inequality and it is ever-emerging in our midst. In fact, he called it "at hand;" or "within reach." Now we get to talk about what that means and grow into it as a human community. Unfortunately religion has made it even more difficult by killing the man's message. Every time Jesus speaks up to "preach good news to the poor, heal the broken-hearted and proclaim liberty to the captives," the church drowns him out with literal interpretations of the stories that were only only written so he would be held higher than all others and everyone would, then, hear his message.

There is nothing wrong with jw people. It is just there teaching.
I just done lots research and find lots contradictions. I dont believe things like those come from God. But i know that they have faith. I dont know if it is true faith. They also have big hearts and passion for what they do. Something i can say is that people some times reach a comfort zone or just dont want to wrong, but what is truth is truth. The thing is accepting it.
But can we accept it or are we biase or brainwashed or both. I guess it comes down to ones personal investigation. The only way to feel good of your investigation work has to be done without being biase. You have to explore, see and listen to others and review what they say. Reading is knowledge and Jesus said :the man with knowledge will be the wise man. My thing is just to learn more about Jw's. Not everything is wrong of what they believe or say,but so far i just cannot accept to participate with their beliefs.
I just pray to God to lead me.
