MY FREAKIN best friend?
Last week, my friend got suspended for calling these guys the n-word. They were bothering her. She returned this week. Okay today someone girl asked her why she got suspended and she said because she called a ni**er a ni**er. I'm black so of course i was offended. Then at lunch they were playing hip hop music she was like they need to turn that ni**er sh*t off. Some girl she's hispanic was listening to hip hop or black music and she was like why do you listen to that ni**er sh*t, I listen to pure chicano rap. It's really beginning to piss me off. Well anyways, there was three white people at the table and she has some girl and tell them to get up and leave because this was pure Mexican table. Advice me please. I don't want to ditch because we have been friends for about four years now. I guess one of her other best friend who is 1/4 black 1/4 spanish and 1/2 native american is not talking to her at all. what should i do?

id like to add to the family values question posted a little while ago.

were not talking about family values asa general term, were talking about Christian Family Values. thats what the definition really is.

i think this whole "family values" thing is an attempt to generalize something thats in fact is specific to a certain people.

so heres the question...to christians...what exactly is "family values" can you describe what these values entail? can you clairify them?

Catfish are scavengers. They are bottom feeders that eat anything and everything. Muslims wont eat pigs for this exact same reason. Catfish are known to have the highest levels of toxins in their tissues than any other fish.

Can't someone find a verse from the Koran that can support some kind of "scientific miracle" revelation so that catfish can be considered haram? Some people seem to be very good at taking verses from the Koran and twisting them to fit modern science, and when they do, Muslims automatically accept it.

How long do you think it will be before catfish are properly labeled as haram and considered forbidden?

Does it make you feel like a foreigner in your own country?

I'm Welsh but like many of my countrymen I don't speak the language. I don't come from a Welsh speaking area of Wales, my parents didn't speak it and my school didn't teach it (The Welsh Language Act came in too late for me. I had pretty much finished school by the time they made it a compulsory subject).

And I can't get an official job because of this! I'm a Welsh History Graduate but can't get a job working in Welsh History because I'm not bi-lingual!

Even if I went to night school to learn, I doubt I'd ever become bi-lingual. How can you learn a language to the extent of being bilingual when you're an adult? And don't really have anyone to practice with? Noone in my family or friends circle speaks Welsh either, and my BF is English so he sure as heck doesn't - he knows less than I do!

I am a progressive liberal and I wanted to help the poor people that lost their homes in New Orleans due to George Bush's Hurricane. I invited several families to come stay with me in New York. My wife and kids weren't happy but I explained we have to do out part to save these nobel people. The families have drained me of all my money, they refuse to get a job, they live in filth, the men harrass my wife and daughters. They have lived with me for 2 and a half month and have cost me almost 100,000 dollars, which is pretty much all my savings. My wife is threatening to leave me and take my daughters away after one of the men tried to sexually assualt them. I don't know what to do. I can't turn these heroes away after what happened to them, but my life has been ruined!!

I noticed at recent trips to the theatre and concerts, to restaurants and exhibition openings or parties that people now dress very informally, as if these events are no different from going to the shops, say, or lounging about at home.

They will wear trainers, sweatshirts or jeans, for instance (generally the men are more casual), and often look pretty awful.

Do you think more dressy styles should be revived, as before the 60's?
