lol what does that have to do with the movie? are you supposed to base it on the movie? if yes; i would do on love or faith. faith you could explain how the preacher lost his faith when a tragic event in his life occured and how it affected his thinking throughout the movie and how he regained his faith at the end when he realized that there was a series of events and problems in his life that had a purpose. if you want to talk about love, you could talk about how his love for his family and his god, and people in general changed when his wife died, and how he dealt with people, and how he ended up regaining a love for his god and a deeper understanding of it. but i suck at english class and writing, u dont have to listen to me =P

The main character struggles with faith. He doesn't doubt so much that God exists, but that God cares. Why would a loving God let his wife die when he served God faithfully? He wonders if there really are "signs." Does God really interact with us? Does God really have a plan? God's plan is revealed in all the pieces that fit together to save his son at the end of the movie--the glasses of water, the baseball bat, the asthma attack. These things lead the main character back to faith--to believing that God really does know what he's doing, that he really does have a plan, even when we can't see it.
List everything you can remember in the movie that deals with faith (or hope or love). Choose the best three and write out your thoughts about them. Then write a thesis statement about how you see faith (or hope or love) in the film. Your thesis statement should relate to your three examples. Write a topic sentence to go with each of the three examples. Then write a paragraph for each where you clearly explain the example and its relationship to faith (or hope or love).

Pick love it is the most interesting.
A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.
After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.
Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.
I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.
I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.
If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.
I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.
Love and blessings

I assume you have to write the essay on the movie.
IT has been a while since I saw it but Faith has the greatest # of examples.
The faith of the Rabi, The faith of the hebrew student, The faith of the female lead in choosing to die to save the world.
As far as writing the essay I would start by defining the word Faith including the origins of the word and then, I would compare and contrast the characters and their expressions of faith.

faith .. given that the main character was an ex priest , and found faith again through the alien attack
hope that as a family they would get through this together
love for his son , even when he wanted to give up through the loss of his wife ... he fought on for him
