First of all, Russia is both Europe and Asia. Ural Mountains are the divide between Europe and Asia, and since Russia has territories on both sides of Urals, it is both Europe and Asia. Now, some Russians (mostly those whose origins are in the West side of Urals) are Europeans, while other Russians (whose origins are in the East side of Urals) are Asians.
