I'm in a medium sized city and people seem shocked that I choose to live in the city.

It's safe, rents are cheap, great old houses, diverse neighbors.....can't imagine fleeing this for some prefab ranch in a lilly white suburb at twice the price. Any thoughts?

MASON, Ohio -- Northeast of Cincinnati, school officials in Mason have taken some heat after two Muslim boys were offered a separate room during the lunch hour.

Superintendent Kevin Bright said it was a "fasting room." He said their parents didn't want the two high school students to have to watch classmates eat while they were fasting for Ramadan.

But school board member Jennifer Miller calls it a "prayer room." At a board meeting earlier this week, she protested, saying America is a Christian nation, not a Muslim nation.

And, a Mason parent said if one group is allowed to pray in school, everyone else should be, too.

The superintendent noted that the two students never even used the room but went to the library during lunch.

if the reason to celebrate christmas is jesus's birth,
are christians parents justified spending several hundred dollars on gifts for their children and close friends and relatives?
If so many christians are going to complain about specific christian christmas carols being banned from being performed in schools and retailers displaying "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas," isn't it hypocritical for them to herd with the secular masses who celebrate it too materialistically? I mean, what type of message is someone sending to their child when they tell them about the importance of christ's birth and what he has done for us all and why we need to follow him, and then you give him a few hundred dollars worth of toys?
Wouldn't it glorify god more if christians would make the primary "gifting" that is given during christmas go to some type of charity or something along those lines?

Believe they are superior over non Christians? (If you believe someone is going to hell for not accepting Christ, then you believe that you are superior). Can it be plausible that your Holy Bible are myths and folklore that men choose to believe as absolute??

why do you idiots hate us so much? the reason why some of us don't like you is because you think you are so big and bad, and that you can dominate everything, when you really can't!

Okay then! How do we expect others to live and let live, when
we keep going up in their FACE. Trying to FORCE them to
accept things they don't particularly want to accept?
Equality DEMANDS Mutual respect.

I believe that the Flood was the symbollic precursor of baptism. Just as the earth was cleansed from sin by the flood, so by water are we cleansed from Original Sin. So my question is, do you believe in a literal Flood story, or do you believe it to be symbollic?

I find it quite difficult to function in the world with so many people being religious. how do you cope with life and so many people base so many decisions on religion (at work, socially,etc.).

do you ever feel isolated from societal norms.

thanks!

And I'm not saying that they aren't, personally I think it's preposterous to say that they aren't. But let's take your word for it conservative protestants. If Catholics aren't Christians then that means that Christianity is not the dominant religion (that would mean that there are about 800 million of you). Islam would be the dominant religion if you believe in the above mentioned exclusion of catholics. So, if Islam is the dominant religion, and Allah is not the same entity as Yaweh (Again, I don't agree with that, but conservative protestants seem to), then it seems that Allah is more powerful. It seems that Allah is able to influence more people with his angels and holy influeces etc.

So, assuming Catholicism is not Christianity, and Allah is a seperate entity from Yaweh, judging by the world population if we adjust it by the aformentioned variables, does this mean that Allah is a more Powerful entity? His "truth" seems to work with more people than your "truth"...

well, personally im emo, and i really don't see much of a big difference between goths and emos, emos are often more emotional, goths have a reputation for worshiping satanic bullshit, which only some of them might, but not all of them! some emos, like myself often where black or darker shades, sometimes a little color from the rainbow, but only on fun sunshiny days, when we want to show happiness. Who do you think is cooler?

Why are so many christians and non-christians facing off? Is this the reality we want to live in? Golden rule people, it's universal.
