well, personally im emo, and i really don't see much of a big difference between goths and emos, emos are often more emotional, goths have a reputation for worshiping satanic bullshit, which only some of them might, but not all of them! some emos, like myself often where black or darker shades, sometimes a little color from the rainbow, but only on fun sunshiny days, when we want to show happiness. Who do you think is cooler?

It's not a question of "who seems cooler". It's who you relate with more. And you can't just decide "Hey, I'll be Goth now." Being Goth doesn't work like that, and it all starts with a wanting to be different, and a liking for darker things (that means so much more than the color black).
It sounds to me like you've already made up you're mind about who you are and who you'd like to hang out with, so just stick with the 'emo' kids.

it's not cool at all period to "place" yourself in a particular group. you be yourself and then become judged but who cares- only God can judge you and if you strive to "be" a certain way I think that is pretty lame. The whole "that's not/is emo" argument is so played out in my opinion. No one cares. This is no offense to you, of course.
