This bugs me,cause they're no better than us.Guys:Please don't leave me bad answers, cause no,not all guys are like this, but the cocky ones are.I was in gym today(I'm 15),and I was walking over to play basketball with the guys.I was standing there, waiting for them to notice that I was waiting to play. One of them said,"What are you doin' over here? Ya seriously think you can play?!!" --Laughter from all of the boys playing--.Another one said,"You're a chick.Shouldn't you be fixing us some sandwiches or somethin'?" --More laughter--
And I said,"Women aren't put on this earth to bow before you. You're so immature.I'm sure I could play basketball better than all of you put together, cause I actually play and don't show off." Finally, they just let me play. One against five.I beat them. One girl against five guys?? I couldn't believe I'd just proved something to them, and I was happy.Someone tell me why they feel the need to be like this...

Please, please, don't tell me about existing religions, and that includes the macaroni monster thing, and everything else that you can already find in a book.

My friend in Peru sources medical equipment for hospitals. She bought a medical freezer from a British company on the internet, and sent them the payment electronically. They told her delivery to Peru would be "about two months". My friend started chasing up the delivery after two months, but never got replies. The British Embassy hasn't managed to do anything, except confirm that the British supplier does actually exist, and to send them a letter querying the situation. The suppliers said that they didn't like "being rushed", and that they would send the freezer when they were ready. The Embassy doesn't seem to have been able to do more. It has now been five months and there has still been no delivery and no refund of the money to the customer in Peru. My question is this: Is there any consumer rights or other organisation in the U.K. that can help my Peruvian friend get either her money back or the delivery of the goods she paid for?

Many thanks!

This is not meant to prove that God exists, for the majority are not always right. Nor is it meant to criticize those who do not believe, for they have the right to not believe.

Mostly, it is to note that most people in America are believers in the faith of their choice. Many of these people are reasonable, hard working, responsible, rational people.

There are some extremists, but do we need to stereo-type all good people due to the actions of a few people, who most disavow.

However, my question is, if the philosophical foundation of this Nation was framed by deists, who believed in a creator, are we losing our sense of nation as we depart from belief and religion? Western Civilization is highly based on the Judeo-Christian Ethic. Are we eroding our own nation by rejecting our culture and past?

Let's say we were able to conduct a Gallop poll in the abitrary year 1776. Would you say that the majority of Americans would claim these United States to be fundementally christian? Or do you honestly think all Americans at the time blindly followed the religious philosophy of Jefferson? Do you think the Founding fathers could have had any credibility with the masses if they weren't at least making an effort to found the country "Under God"? Do you think this motive has in any way influenced the American system of government?

In short I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of Americans from the get-go thought these United States to be a Christian society. Do you think that it's only been in the past 50 years that certain liberal interests have curbed this basic truth for there own purpose? Might there be a hidden agenda behind their selective view of history?

I have seen self proclaimed "born-again" Christians do this. They could go on and on about stealing being wrong, but maybe they think the Family Circle at their doctor's office is a gift.

Do you see parallels today?

If you are Christian, do you recognize that at that time, the crusades were supported by the prevailing lay Christian interpretation of the Bible?

And definitely no venom. I am doing research in trying to find probably an impossible solution, but here are some thoughts.
1) Middle East seems to be still ruled according to tribal standards, which are hard for westerners to follow or comprehend.
2) The region has lot of wealth, but people are poor, specially in the neighboring Africa, which may well be the next hotbed of revolt
3) Western governments tend to be short-lived (3 to 4 years), whereas rulers in the middle east are often for life
4) There is a lot of hate between muslims and non-muslims, and between muslims themselves
5) Westerners cannot stoop to terrorists' level of debauchery and callousness. They must treat everyone as innocent until law can prove them guilty.
6) The only world body -UN-that can help seems to be inept and corrupt.

So what to do? I believe except for a minority of troublemakers, muslims by and large want to live in peace, and be left alone to pursue their faith and their livelihood

I'm not even talking about made up words like "fo shizzle."

So many black people say "be-room" instead of "bedroom." They so "fo sho" instead of "for sure." Etc.

Also, why do they have that accent that so many do?
