I have seen self proclaimed "born-again" Christians do this. They could go on and on about stealing being wrong, but maybe they think the Family Circle at their doctor's office is a gift.

I am shocked and dismayed!

Not only do I not steal magazines from doctors waiting rooms, that's where I take my old ones to get rid of them. Remove the mailing address, and slip it into the pile.

Not only are magazines in waiting rooms out of date, sick people have been handling and coughing on them.

LOL, do people really do that!? I wouldn't think the magazines in a waiting room are worth stealing. Christians doing this doesn't surprise me. A lot of them go around pretending they're so perfect, but they're not. No one is.
Maybe they are upset about the doctor's fees being too high and they steal the magazines for revenge. XD I really don't know...

In some doctor's offices it is. My last pediatrician ordered extra copies of each magazine for this specific reason. He knew that certain articles that came out would be beneficial. The receptionists actually had a pile of magazines that were current and there was a sign that said "take one" next to them. I think it depends on the doctor though.

On behalf of these Christians, I apologize to you and all those doctor's offices. It isn't right for a Christian, or anyone, to steal, regardless of what the object is. Perhaps they really do think those magazines are complimentary, but whatever, their reason, it's wrong. Please don't let these Christians spoil your view of Christianity as a whole. Pretty much all the people I know are Christians, and they wouldn't do that!

Most people think of magazines as ephemera, of little value when old; most doctor office mags are a month or three aged. The pop magazines are just a collection of advertising.

The few with complete collections from #1 forward are called weird; and if they are not careful, packrats.

hahaha, i dont know, but it is a pain in the ***, trust me. my father is a dentist, so sometimes i sub at his office when his staff needs a day off. I sit at the front desk, so i watch person after person rip out articles of cooking magazines or throw the whole tv guide or readers digest in their bag. we just order several copies of the magazines now to make up for it.

i think people feel that because they are paying to go to a doctor, they have a right to take the magazine.

That sentence would not honestly prefer something after "Is it incorrect to scouse borrow"... specific. And if she concept it grew to become into cool and classic, the guy who left it there for persons to take excitement in possibly concept a similar concern, I used to pass to a doctor who could in lots of cases permit you're taking magazines that have been over 2 months old, except somebody else had asked that distinctive concern. (He set aside a number of for me by way of the years.) He pronounced it grew to become into toughest to maintain Rolling Stone on the tables. i think the Economist did no longer stroll off as in lots of cases for some unusual reason...

I often take the mags, but I always ask first. My doctor and his secretary always say,"Yes."
Most of those mags are often over a year old, and get thrown away anyway. Few doctors keep new magazines in the office because they know people are gonna take them.

Because the Doctor over charges people so much for his/her service that taking a magazine from his/her office is not stealing (I personally have never taken one).
