ask specifically what you have to do to get training on the register. these other people may have experience at other places. maybe a background check on you isn't complete.

You should make sure that working the register is on your career path, then ask exactly what you need to do to get on it and ask to be allowed to do that. If you're not allowed, ask point blank if there are concerns about your work that prevent you from getting on.

Don't hide your questions inside. You don't want to look neurotic and ask if the boss doesn't like you, but you want to express things in a mature way that shows you respect yourself and you are not hiding or waiting for them to come to you.

If you want to know if there's a reason they're not putting you on besides skills, ask them what it might be. In a nice way because you're interested to doing it.

Either get serious and tell them you want to learn and ask why they haven't trained you yet. Or find another job. They are walking all over you. Don't let anyone do that. If you ever have to ask who you should be mad at then its time to look at yourself. You'll be okay. Sometimes you have to act like an ***hole to get what you want. Stuff like that happens for a reason....

maybe your job performance counts whether or not you get that privilege to work the register. I use to work in retail. The managers would pay attention to the employees job performace and then determine if they are loyal and responsible enough to learn how to use the cash registers.
