Looking back on my life in public school (I'm now in college) I realize how much opposition there was to being a Christian in the classroom. Students spend on average 7 hours of their waking day in a school system that refuses to present the possibility of a creator and further demonizes the American historically accepted religion (Christianity). Every science classroom in the U.S. refuses to accept the possibility of anything beyound the material universe. In Every literature class I ever took, we were required to read books that was either overwhelmingly critical of the church or written from the position of a complete atheist. In history, I was taught every evil act made by the Catholic Church in the history of the world with a total disregard for the Church's good works.

Today here in the R&S section I see time and time again this shallow linear thinking that was taught to me in school get parroted back to me trying to tear down Christianity.

Are the schools responsible?

my best friend is a christian and the first thing she said to me was,

"you really need to thank god for this."

I replied,

"well I really need to thank someone."

I was offended as she knows my beliefs and has never been so blatant with disrespect before. Both of us are very respectful of each others beliefs. Should I ignore it, or talk to her about it?

I will provide for all the atheists out there, a undeniable truth of gods existance.
First I will ask you to seperate the difference between possible existance and impossible and necessary existance. Possible is existance that don't have to exist. Such as George W. Bush, he can exist but its not necessary that he exists. I will prove why god is necessary. First lets list some impossible existances, impossible existances are things that the mind cannot concieve of existancing an example would be a round square or 2+2=5 sure the defination can change but the fact will never change. Now is santa claus a possible existance or an impossible existance? Santa claus is a possible existance because we can concieve of him existing even though he doesn't. Its not impossible that he exists. Physically it might be impossible, but logically we can concieve of santa claus existing. Now for god. Lets first define god. Lets make the defination simple and not religous based. Lets say god is the greatest

If people were to see someone spank a handicapped adult out in public they would quickly call the police, so why isn't it the same for when they see someone spanking a child? Both are pretty much defenseless in the scheme of things.

God created mankind with earth as our home. When did he first tell us about going to hell ? Did god create Adam and tell him that he would be going to heaven if he was obedient ? What about Genesis 2 verse 17. - If God created a perfect paradise then why would there be a need to go someplace better ? i.e .. heaven.

II found an article about homosexual behavior among wild animals. This makes the case that homosexuality is not against nature. Do you think that this is an effective presentation?

Oslo gay animal show draws crowds
Curators say a Norwegian exhibition on homosexuality among animals has been well received, despite initial indications of strong opposition.
The Oslo Natural History Museum opened the show last week and says it has been well attended, not least by families.

Organisers reported early criticism of the project, and being told by one opponent they would "burn in hell".

But there has been strong interest in an aspect of animal behaviour the museum says is quite common.

It says homosexuality has been observed among 1,500 species, and that in 500 of those it is well documented.

The exhibition - entitled Against Nature? - includes photographs of one male giraffe mounting another, of apes stimulating others of

The threats were not "corroborated". Therefore, it doesnt mean the threats werent real, but instead means that the evidence of the possiblity wasnt substantial enough to "legitimize" it...whatever that means.

What are your thoughts?

Take a moment and imagine you are one with accumulating, flowing anf undulating essence. One with and within collective consciousness and mutual conscientiousness, observing our species. Would your observation be sympathetic, toward us in general? Would you be concerned by our relentless, self-serving and care less indulgence. No matter what side any are on, born or coerced into, our travesty is fuled and accelerated, by us. Yet we describe and admire ourselves with cute little sayings like "I think therefore I am". It is more like I think therefore I scam. We scam for christ's sake. For muhammad's sake, god's, allah's, jehovah's, gandhi's, budda's martin luther king's or joseph smith's sake. For tradition, wealth, greed, for our own sake, and generally inequities sake. While necessity to commune and accomodate, in, and of, mutual hospitality, is functionally ignored. Such essentialness forgotten. In spite of claim as to true orientation, character, spirit, soul or inner self.
