PEOPLE PERISH FROM LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!

i have been pondering for a while why so many things were said to have happened in the Bible and i am just wondering why nobody today can hear God or why today God never comes down and the whole world rejoices, why did theese things only happen when nobody was around to see them?? what if u got to the end of ur life and found out it was alla lie? im not attacking ur fdaith i just want to know beause i am a christian but i question it more than follow it so please just enlighten me on how u can be so sure

to give people a thumbs down because it is not what you believe ... even if the answer given is not claiming to be the truth .. and especially when it is given to try and give someone a little hope ?
cant people see past the difference of beliefs if there is a chance it may actually help someone ?

My 78 year old father has started watching this preacher, buying his tapes, bible, and newsletters....and sending him a good bit of money. I was wanting to know if anyone has any feedback on this man and his ministry. He is on the t.v. each day, and sits at a desk to preach. I believe he is out of Arkansas.

Also, a big problem is since I was adopted, he feels my parents were bad eggs...therefore, so am I. He thinks I am a Cainite...and that I am a descendant of Cain, the first murderer. I had a small tomato garden earlier this year and he said I could not grow anything because I am a cainite and I have been cursed and cannot toil the ground. "Weren't Cain and his descendants wiped out in the flood?
Advise anyone?

I have a crush on this girl. The problem is, I only see her where she works, and when I was brave enough to actually go up to her and make a move, I missed my chance cause she was so busy, other people were around, etc. She was never in the same spot for more than a minute.

And now, there have been at least five different times where we made eye contact, and she even smiled once, and I still haven't made a move.

I'm afraid she's losing interest because I've been hesitant...and sometimes I get shy and avoid her eyes when she looks at me. I'm afraid she thinks I'm not interested when actually I really am.

What should I do? Should I just not wait any longer and just go up to her the next time I see her? or should I just smile when she looks at me? I'm trying to go there when it doesnt seem as busy, but lately she hasn't been around, and that sucks. I want to show her that I'm interested. Sorry if this is a lot of detail. Thank you for your answers in advance.

I know in some cultures/religions this is clearly acceptable but what about just plain ole Americans who want to keep their carpet clean? Does it matter if we are talking family thats over, a party with close friends? not so close friends? A more formal business type party (e.g., entertaining potential clients)?

Seriously! Why must they honk and scare the living beejesus out of us and make us feel uncomfortable? Why can't they just look quietly and continue driving? Honking like that is just not neccesary.

Examp: Christmas was originally an Egyptian winter feast, Halloween comes from Celtic beliefs. A festival was held on November 1st to celebrate the dead, honoring Samhain--pronounced "Sowen"-- the lord of the dead. Christians changed it to "All Hallows Eve" then it became "All Souls Day" a Christian Holiday. Why do Christians do this? There are many more examples, too many to list.

Who bloody decided that there is a heaven and hell.
People who dont believe in a God have just as much right to say so as the people who come on here saying crap like "oh you dont believe in God, you have a big surprise in store when you die"
I'd piss myself laughing if the religious folk die and realise that maybe there isnt a God.

I have been married for 2 years now and I have cheated on my wife countless times. I never felt bad about it because I believe women aren't even people. Okay, theres this guy that I know, I dont know him too well, and I dont see him much, but I crushed on him for the longest time. Recently, I accidently stumbled across a secret blog of his where he admitted he was gay. I just feel kinda odd, I don't want this to change my opinion of him, but I feel very strange and sorta heartbroken that I'll never get to be with him or anything. Don't know the next time I'll see him, but I want to be able not be ashamed around him because I know his secret, and yes, it is a secret, cause hes told hardly anyone.
