What makes you think that no one hears God anymore.

They just don't tell anyone.

Would you if all you got for your trouble was ridicule and comments about your sanity.

If you want to hear from God get a copy of the book "a course in miracles" It teaches you how to connect directly with God for a personal revelatory connection. It has actually worked for thousands of people.

Love and blessings Don

People hear God, just not in the ominious all power "voive of God" comes down. Sometimes people just need to be quiet and let go or their wants and needs and obey Gods tiny little voices. God made you born in this time period, no other time. He has a reason whether you understand it or not. I wouldnt CARE if the end of my life came and I found out that I really just didnt exist anymore. I would have LIVED for something. And thats what matters most for me. I know I have enjoyed the finer things in life, by not wasting it away in things i knew werent right. How I'm so sure about my faith? I have two reasons. One is nothing else makes sense. No other religeon, no other faith brings hope, or love, or peace, or joy like Christianity does. It makes me happy to be alive. In other worldviews like Marxism, Naturalism, Secular Humanism, it just leaves you... with nothing. Deny everything, spiritual being is all that matters, phyisical things are all that matters, they dont bring me ANYTHING other than grief. So I went searching for something more. And I found it. I found it in Christ. my second reason, is I have had a personal encounter with God.. my own personal experience with Him, and that is more valuable than anything in this world, or out of it.

I think this is a fair question. The reason I am so sure about my belief...that the bible is what it claims to be, given by inspiration of God, is that I have spent the last ten years of my life studying the bible, in some depth. I also have seen God work in my life, His word has become true all around me. He has fulfilled promises that He made in His word that...you're right....came from "so long ago". His promises, love and assurance is as relevant for us today as it was hundreds, even thousands of years ago.

The bible has this verse: "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God". I believe my faith has been strengthened day by day, year by year, by staying in His word, trying to be a doer of the word (not a hearer only), seeking His will for my life, and keeping my relationship with Him close and intimate, with prayer and praise, asking Him to change me into the woman He would have me be.

I have a painting of a tree beside a stream. The caption below says "Listen for His voice." God speaks to us in many ways. I think if I heard his voice in his own voice as he talked to Moses, it would scare me. He has chosen to send us the Holy Spirit in place of his voice.
That's what faith is, believing without seeing. Here is an easy one, Can you see the wind? It is perfectly acceptable to question. The more you question, the stronger it makes your faith.

You state you are a Christian, so please pray for more faith and don't be led away because people make fun of you. A lot of Christians have questioned their faith, even pastors. God wants you to question, get angry, yell, and just be the human you are. You are allowed to be angry and yell at Him. He forgives and also understands. You are His child. He will not let you stray so far that you can't find a way back. Most of your answers can be found in the Bible. Bible study is important, because it helps us understand things that we have questions about. He loves you. You will get a lot of "choice" responses from people who do not believe and they love to hear people saying they question their faith. "Listen for His voice."

Faith is hope in what will happen according to God's Promise. Belief is what you know from knowledge and wisdom as the truth of things that were and are.

I know God personally, I have met angels in dreams, God has led me on many occasions through much unknown terrain like a little lamb lost following her shephard.

I have faith that Jesus will save me from condemnation because of His promises and because of the fact that He has never lied or broken any of His promises or prophecies.

What you need is a deeper revelation of God. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. You need to meditate on His Word. Choose a verse from the Bible each day, and write it on a piece of paper or card, carry it with you throughout the day, and read it often. Challenge yourself to memorise it.
