Emo is kind of link punk, but slightly different. Guys that are emo tend to dress punk/gothic (lots of black), but wear girls jeans and are slightly feminine acting. They are also said to be very depressed constantly. Check out the wikipedia article for more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo_slang.

"emo" is short for emotional. it doesn't mean that every damn emo kids cuts themselves and goes around moaning, "my life sucks, i want to die."thats just a stereotype. i have a lot of friends who are emo. regardless of what other people may tell you, there is nothing wrong with them. they're a part of the goth/rocker group. they listen to emo music (green day, death cab for a cutie, hathorne heights, PANIC! AT THE DISCO *whoot whoot my favorite*) they ususally wear black with lots of studed wrist bands and belts, different colored hair everyday, gages, black eyeliner, some dont talk much. but theyre a lot of fun!! :D
