Seriously! Why must they honk and scare the living beejesus out of us and make us feel uncomfortable? Why can't they just look quietly and continue driving? Honking like that is just not neccesary.

They don't have to. Most men don't. It is just a few very sexist people. Unfortunately sexism, and lack of respect for women, is encouraged by lots of things in society. Even some women encourage men to be like that. But there are lots of groups around that campaign for women to be treated with more respect, so find a feminist group and join up. Changing social attitudes takes time, but it is definately possible and worth doing. Look at all the progress women have made in their rights over the centuries.

They don't know any other way, to get her attention. Not all men honk, though. Some whistle, but not all men are able to whistle. I never could. I agree, though, that we need to find another way, to get a lady's attention, that we can all do.

because they have already seen the body, now they want to see the face, and when they honk, you look and they get a clear view.

hmm as a man...i dont even drive lol
but if i did i wouldnt honk. i dont even look at other women as i pass them in the street. without being gay they dont interest me.

They don't haveto, they just want to get your attention. If you start tlling them to F*** off they will learn they aren't getting the attention they want and stop the stupid habit.
